This transitional condo remodel features a gut kitchen remodel to improve flow, efficiency, layout, and storage solutions. Clean lines matched with touches of natural materials in the flooring and backsplash help to elevate the open and airy feeling of the space.

This Regency waterfront apartment is a dramatic foil for this project. The kitchen space is centrally located in the core of the building with a small window looking out onto a lightwell. Organising the workflow with the client during the design process really answered any questions - the clients less is more approach produced an interesting kitchen. The vintage oak doors were recycled from the previous kitchen to lend some balance to the modern handleless furniture. The house supports the clients’ new, shared life with a contemporary design tailored for accessibility & multigenerational living to futureproof the house. Living zones are connected via ramps internally and externally for universal access, to see the couple into their senior years. The transitional space between living and sleeping is optimized for storage and display. Joinery lines the length of the wall, with a refined palette of timber and tiles, providing a layered backdrop for the couples’ combined landscape of artwork, furniture, plants and books.

A retired teacher and grandmother, our client raised her family in this Valley view home. With amazing potential for an enhanced territorial view, this project had been on our client’s mind for quite some time. She was very particular in selecting us as her design and build team. With deep roots in her community, it was important to her that she works with a local community-based team to design a new space, while respecting its roots and craftsmanship, that her late husband had helped build.

For this kitchen remodel, the clients opted to maintain the location and footprint of the original kitchen in their 1960’s ranch style home. That meant we had our work cut out for us to maximize the counter space while providing enough storage for this growing family. We ultimately decided to maximize the working counter space by the sink and range and added a large pantry wall in the adjacent dining room for bulky items and food storage. We chose a lightly stained slab style cabinet to capture the era of the home but paired it with white high-gloss upper cabinets and white quartz to make the space also look fresh and functional. A light green paint helps pull in the accent color featured in the backsplash while adding warmth to the home. We finished the space with a unique light fixture and a perfectly modern dining table. This classic white kitchen design completely transformed the space infusing it with personality, functionality, and a much improved use of square footage. The kitchen openly flows to the den and eating area. We removed the wall between the den and the dining room to create a completely open floor plan. We also took some space from the client’s two car garage to add a mudroom, so the family can come in through the garage and have a place to put everything before entering the living space. This landing area also includes a powder room. In the photo this mudroom area is the hallway space next to the wall oven. The new mudroom has plenty of coat storage and extra cabinetry for pantry and bulk items. The overall design is an incredible improvement with timeless elements. The cabinetry is from our Elmwood line and the finish is White Dove. The client chose one of our favorite quartz colors — Compac’s Unique Calacatta. The custom design details on the cabinet interiors and overall design provide much needed additional storage for organizing everything. The clean lines and custom detailing are truly timeless.

There’s nothing quite like a cozy cottage to call home. Especially when you can get creative, renovating key spaces to balance modern convenience and vintage charm. We collaborated with the talented homeowners to bring their vision to life an the results speak for themselves. A gourmet kitchen fits seamlessly in the original home’s footprint and not one, but two thoughtfully re-designed bathrooms bring a slice of luxury and function to this sweet little home. The modern-meets-classic kitchen tiles started it all, setting the tone for the entire renovation. Gourmet appliances and custom cabinetry maximized function and storage and new lighting was a perfect finishing touch. We completely re-worked the home’s “master” bath (you should see the “before!”), adding a spacious frameless glass shower. In the basement, the new bathroom is every bit the retreat the homeowner dreamed of, with the freestanding composite tub, an enormous vanity and a hidden stackable washer and dryer. The decommissioned fireplace is oh-so decorative, showing off with new Ann Sacks marble mosaic tile. Loft kitchens are always tricky since they are usually very small and most don’t have much cabinet space. Going against the standard design of opening the kitchen to the common area here we decided to close off a wall to allow additional cabinets to be installed. 2 large pantries were installed in the end of the kitchen for extra storage, a laundry enclosure was built to house the stackable washer/dryer unit and in the center of it all we have a large tall window to allow natural light to wash the space with light. The modern cabinets have an integral pulls design to give them a clean look without any hardware showing. Two tones, dark wood for bottom and tall cabinet and white for upper cabinets give this narrow galley kitchen a sensation of space. tying it all together is the long narrow rectangular gray/brown lime stone backsplash.

The wine refrigerator is really a great feature in this space as with the glass front you can see exactly what you are looking for.
