Cette petite cuisine a été entièrement repensée. Pour pouvoir agrandir la salle de bain le choix a été fait de diminuer la surface de la cuisine. Elle reste néanmoins très fonctionnelle car toutes les fonctions d'usage sont présentes mais masquées par les portes de placard (frigo, four micro ondes, hotte, rangements.... ) Elle est séparée du salon par un clairevoie ce qui la lie au reste de l'appartement sans pour autant être complétement ouverte.

The footprint of the kitchen was not drastically altered; however it was fully redesigned to seamlessly integrate with the dining and living areas. Walls were removed that framed the existing layout and separated the kitchen from the adjacent rooms. The side of the cabinetry facing the dining room and living room now showcase a dramatic bar and counter seating area clad in steel panels and a 7” thick walnut countertop with hidden storage. The cabinets are white with a twist: rift cut white oak with a semi-transparent paint, allowing the natural color to slightly bleed through thus enhancing its rustic nature. Grey quartz countertops echo the abundant natural rock formations on the property further connecting the kitchen to the home and gorgeous exterior surroundings. Unique details include the steel cladding behind the cooktop and sink to protect the wood countertop, reusing steel for the sleek custom kitchen table support, and a steel backsplash adjacent to the refrigerator. The dining room walls are custom painted in a color-on-color birch tree motif and live edge wood slabs were chosen for both the kitchen and dining tabletops. General lighting was thoughtfully considered and incorporates small aperture, square trimmed LED recessed fixtures throughout. A unique statement chandelier punctuates the dining room table. Shortlisted for the prestigious ​Stephen Lawrence National Architecture Award​, and winning a RIBA South East Regional Award​ (2015), the kinetic Ancient Party Barn is a playful re-working of historic agricultural buildings for residential use. Our clients, a fashion designer and a digital designer, are avid collectors of reclaimed architectural artefacts. Together with the existing fabric of the barn, their discoveries formed the material palette. The result – part curation, part restoration – is a unique interpretation of the 18th Century threshing barn. The design (2,295 sqft) subverts the familiar barn-conversion type, creating hermetic, introspective spaces set in open countryside. A series of industrial mechanisms fold and rotate the facades to allow for broad views of the landscape. When they are closed, they afford cosy protection and security. These high-tech, kinetic moments occur without harming the fabric and character of the existing, handmade timber structure. Liddicoat & Goldhill’s conservation specialism, combined with strong relationships with expert craftspeople and engineers lets the clients’ contemporary vision co-exist with the humble, historic barn architecture. A steel and timber mezzanine inside the main space creates an open-plan, master bedroom and bathroom above, and a cosy living area below. The mezzanine is supported by a tapering brick chimney inspired by traditional Kentish brick ovens; a cor-ten helical staircase cantilevers from the chimney. The kitchen is a free-standing composition of furniture at the opposite end of the barn space, combining new and reclaimed furniture with custom-made steel gantries. These ledges and ladders contain storage shelves and hanging space, and create a route up through the barn timbers to a floating ‘crows nest’ sleeping platform in the roof. Within the low-rise buildings reaching south from the main barn, a series of new ragstone interior walls, like the cattle stalls they replaced, delineate a series of simple sleeping rooms for guests.

The original breakfast room was removed and the corner corner squared off a the site of the new sink. The removal of the wall dividing the kitchen and dining areas allowed the kitchen to expand and accommodate the open concept floor plan. The result is an amazingly comfortable & beautiful space in which to cook & entertain.

The owners of this 1920's home had Baby #1 well on the way! This caused there to be an urgent need to update the kitchen and getting the project completed before the baby arrived! The client wanted to improve the layout functionality, add an island, enlarge the door openings, and add storage. A difficult task in this small 1920s kitchen. To achieve this design, mechanicals and a window were relocated. The new painted island with Boos block countertop, allowed for larger walk ways. A custom hood, marble subway tile backsplash and pot filler, create the focal point. The client’s needs were met with this beautifully detailed kitchen and two weeks before the due date! Diese Küche besticht durch ihre Geradlinigkeit und ihr Platzangebot. Der Hochschrank mit dem zentralen Herd verfügt über zwei herausziehbare Schränke, die die Einbautiefe voll ausnutzen und zu einem wahren Hort für viele Gegenstände des täglichen Gebrauchs innerhalb der Küche werden. Der Küchenblock verbindet den Essbereich mit der Küche. Esszimmerseitig wurde ein offenes Fach zur Auflockerung der streng gegliederten Front integriert. Dieses verfügt an der Oberseite über praktische Steckdosen und USB-Ladestecker. Die Küchenarbeitsplatte ist aus 12mm Compactplattenmaterial mit Echtholzfurnier in geräucherter Eiche. Die Möbelfronten sind stumpfmatt mit einem hochwertigen HPL-Schichtstoff "Fenix" beschichtet. Dazu passen gut die soliden Griffe aus Edelstahl. Als Besonderheit fertigten wir ein optisch zur Arbeitsplatte passendes Regal mit auch nur 12mm Wandstärke in geräuchertem Eichenholz an.
