Brad Haines knows a thing or two about building things. The intensely creative and innovative founder of Oklahoma City-based Haines Capital is the driving force behind numerous successful companies including Bank 7 (NASDAQ BSVN), which proudly reported record year-end earnings since going public in September of last year. He has beautifully built, renovated, and personally thumb printed all of his commercial spaces and residences. “Our theory is to keep things sophisticated but comfortable,” Brad says. That’s the exact approach he took in his personal haven in Nichols Hills, Oklahoma. Painstakingly renovated over the span of two years by Candeleria Foster Design-Build of Oklahoma City, his home boasts museum-white, authentic Venetian plaster walls and ceilings; charcoal tiled flooring; imported marble in the master bath; and a pretty kitchen you’ll want to emulate. Reminiscent of an edgy luxury hotel, it is a vibe conjured by Cantoni designer Nicole George. “The new remodel plan was all about opening up the space and layering monochromatic color with lots of texture,” says Nicole, who collaborated with Brad on two previous projects. “The color palette is minimal, with charcoal, bone, amber, stone, linen and leather.” “Sophisticated“Sophisticated“Sophisticated“Sophisticated“Sophisticated Nicole helped oversee space planning and selection of interior finishes, lighting, furnishings and fine art for the entire 7,000-square-foot home. It is now decked top-to-bottom in pieces sourced from Cantoni, beginning with the custom-ordered console at entry and a pair of Glacier Suspension fixtures over the stairwell. “Every angle in the house is the result of a critical thought process,” Nicole says. “We wanted to make sure each room would be purposeful.” To that end, “we reintroduced the ‘parlor,’ and also redefined the formal dining area as a bar and drink lounge with enough space for 10 guests to comfortably dine,” Nicole says. Brad’s parlor holds the Swing sectional customized in a silky, soft-hand charcoal leather crafted by prominent Italian leather furnishings company Gamma. Nicole paired it with the Kate swivel chair customized in a light grey leather, the sleek DK writing desk, and the Black & More bar cabinet by Malerba. “Nicole has a special design talent and adapts quickly to what we expect and like,” Brad says. To create the restaurant-worthy dining space, Nicole brought in a black-satin glass and marble-topped dining table and mohair-velvet chairs, all by Italian maker Gallotti & Radice. Guests can take a post-dinner respite on the adjoining room’s Aston sectional by Gamma. In the formal living room, Nicole paired Cantoni’s Fashion Affair club chairs with the Black & More cocktail table, and sofas sourced from Désirée, an Italian furniture upholstery company that creates cutting-edge yet comfortable pieces. The color-coordinating kitchen and breakfast area, meanwhile, hold a set of Guapa counter stools in ash grey leather, and the Ray dining table with light-grey leather Cattelan Italia chairs. The expansive loggia also is ideal for entertaining and lounging with the Versa grand sectional, the Ido cocktail table in grey aged walnut and Dolly chairs customized in black nubuck leather. Nicole made most of the design decisions, but, “she took my suggestions seriously and then put me in my place,” Brad says. She had the master bedroom’s Marlon bed by Gamma customized in a remarkably soft black leather with a matching stitch and paired it with onyx gloss Black & More nightstands. “The furnishings absolutely complement the style,” Brad says. “They are high-quality and have a modern flair, but at the end of the day, are still comfortable and user-friendly.” The end result is a home Brad not only enjoys, but one that Nicole also finds exceptional. “I honestly love every part of this house,” Nicole says. “Working with Brad is always an adventure but a privilege that I take very seriously, from the beginning of the design process to installation.”

Contemporary white high gloss Crystal cabinets with Cambria white cliff counter tops is striking. Adding black painted walls and large scale black tile floors make it even more dramatic. But with the addition of orange light fixtures and colorful artwork, the kitchen is over the top with energy. With no upper cabinets only floating shelves for display the base cabinets are well planned for each functional work zone. a. The “Cooking Zone” hosts the 60” range top (with hood) and is the heart of the kitchen. The ovens, coffee system and speed oven are located outside of this zone and use the island/snack bar as their landing space. b. The “Prep Zone” includes the refrigerator, freezer, sink, and dishwasher c. The “Entertainment Zones” has a separate sink and dishwasher, the wine cooler and beverage center. A desk off to the side of the kitchen with a large roll up tambour to keep any mess hidden. Also their robot vacuums have a charging station under the files drawers in the toe kick. Subsequent additions are covered with living green walls to deemphasize stylistic conflicts imposed on a 1940’s Tudor and become backdrop surrounding a kitchen addition. On the interior, further added architectural inconsistencies are edited away, and the language of the Tudor’s original reclaimed integrity is referenced for the addition. Sympathetic to the home, windows and doors remain untrimmed and stark plaster walls contrast the original black metal windows. Sharp black elements contrast fields of white. With a ceiling pitch matching the existing and chiseled dormers, a stark ceiling hovers over the kitchen space referencing the existing homes plaster walls. Grid members in windows and on saw scored paneled walls and cabinetry mirror the machine age windows as do exposed steel beams. The exaggerated white field is pierced by an equally exaggerated 13 foot black steel tower that references the existing homes steel door and window members. Glass shelves in the tower further the window parallel. Even though it held enough dinner and glassware for eight, its thin members and transparent shelves defy its massive nature, allow light to flow through it and afford the kitchen open views and the feeling of continuous space. The full glass at the end of the kitchen reveres a grouping of 50 year old Hemlocks. At the opposite end, a window close to the peak looks up to a green roof.

Die Specials dieser Küche: grifflose Ausführung aller Fronten einschließlich Kühlschrank, Apothekerschrank und Mülleimer elektrisch öffnend, Arbeitsplatten aus Granit mit flächenbündigem Kochfeld und Wrasenabzug (Dunst- und Dampfabzug) von Miele. Kurz: Eine Küche mit viel Stauraum und pfiffigen Funktionen, die den Kochalltag erleichtern. Und die außerdem so schön ist, dass Familie und Freunde sich immer wieder hier versammeln werden.

To create a kitchen worthy of today's demands, we needed a larger space. The formal dining room provided exactly what we needed. The soft blue cabinets and backsplash are a gentle nod to 1900's with an open plan and size that acknowledges the kitchen requirements of today's families. Besides the beautiful double oven 48" Ilve range, the walnut vent hood and the corner fireplace, you won't want to miss the double refrigerators, pull out spices and well appointed butler's pantry.

We have completed a breathtaking project for some previous clients in their new-build home. This stunning kitchen and utility uses Mereway’s Q-Line range in ‘Pietra Ceramica’ and ‘Grafite Ceramica’. We matched the worktops using Laminam’s ‘Pietra di Savoia Antracite Bocciardata’ and ‘Pietra di Savoia Grigia Bocciardata’ to create a stunning, industrial finish. The ceramic itself has the most beautiful, dramatic and interesting finish due to its unique texture and colour. A key design feature was having the tall bank of units in the darker tone, and island in the lighter tone in order to create more contrast and highlight the beauty of the materials. Sleek, black plinths create a ‘floating’ illusion, adding interest to the overall space. Our design brief for this project was to create a contemporary, hybrid space that harmoniously balanced their day to day life with their social life. Plenty of storage space, a large island, drinks area and a matching utility were core factors of the brief with a primary focus on accessibility as one of our clients is a wheelchair user. Being able to have a kitchen to prepare meals in as a couple was an important factor in the overall design of the kitchen, which is why the recess in the kitchen island is a core feature. The kitchen table is a thing of beauty in itself, thoughtful design resulted in the table being adjoined to the island. The wood used by Spekva is a stunning feature that stands out so well on its own, and creates a natural warmth, so a simple design for the legs was paramount. Our focus here was on the attention to detail of the legs, which we had specially crafted in order to match the grip ledges of the tall bank of units. This element of the design was crucial to ensuring continuity between the island and table, yet give the design another dimension and another beautiful feature. Creating a drinks area adds to the social element of the brief. Therefore, on the opposite side of the island, we installed a bar area which includes a wine cooler and built-under fridge for soft drinks and beer. The utility room stays very much in the same direction, which is something we felt important as the utility room can be seen from the kitchen/dining area. Instead of fitting units in the luxurious ceramic, we opted to have units in a competitively priced concrete-effect laminate. This finish fits perfectly into the overall design and is extremely practical for a utility room. The space is kitted out with integrated laundry equipment, a sink and tap and additional storage.
