We took on the kitchen, two bathrooms and a powder room. The layout in the kitchen was functional for them, so we kept that pretty much as is. Our client wanted a contemporary-leaning transitional look — nice clean lines with a gray and white palette. Light gray cabinets with a slightly darker gray subway tile keep the northern exposure light and airy. They also purchased some new furniture for their breakfast room and adjoining family room, so the whole space looks completely styled and new. The light fixtures are staggered and give a nice rhythm to the otherwise serene feel. The homeowners were not 100% sold on the flooring choice for little powder room off the kitchen when I first showed it, but now they think it is one of the most interesting features of the design. I always try to “push” my clients a little bit because that’s when things can get really fun and this is what you are paying for after all, ideas that you may not come up with on your own. We also worked on the two upstairs bathrooms. We started first on the hall bath which was basically just in need of a face lift. The floor is porcelain tile made to look like carrera marble. The vanity is white Shaker doors fitted with a white quartz top. We re-glazed the cast iron tub. The master bath was a tub to shower conversion. We used a wood look porcelain plank on the main floor along with a Kohler Tailored vanity. The custom shower has a barn door shower door, and vinyl wallpaper in the sink area gives a rich textured look to the space. Overall, it’s a pretty sophisticated look for its smaller fooprint. This small Fairfax, VA kitchen got a huge upgrade with white and navy blue shaker cabinets, quartz countertops a rustic wood hood surround, and a beautiful backsplash.

This original kitchen to the home was dark and had lived it's life. The client wanted an open and bright update kitchen with focus on specific storage needs. Every item in the kitchen had a specific placement for it's storing; this is the reason for different sized drawers throughout the kitchen. The client's like to entertain, so we lowered the raised bar and added a dry bar.

This 1940's beach cottage has been renovated to include the orginal floors, doors and vintage glass door knobs. The owner collaborated with Terri Dubose @ Woodsman Kitchens and Floors. The combination of navy and white inset furniture grade cabinets with the white marbled quartz top, subway tile, ship lap, shutters and brass accents all complete this classic coastal style.

The custom-built larder or pantry area serves to store small appliances and breakfast foods. It not only functions as an appliance garage , but works as a complete breakfast station. HAVEN design+building llc

This was a total gut and remodel of an early 1900's bungalow. The homeowners are empty nesters looking to make the most of the space in their 840 square foot home. The original bath still had no shower, and the kitchen hadn't been updated in fifty years. Kitcheart designed and supplied the kitchen and bath cabinetry to suit the homeowner's mid-century and craftsman style. Hickory cabinetry was custom stained with a paint wash that matched their Sherwin Williams color pick, "Favorite Jeans." Family dishes are hidden behind antique mirrored doors with custom X mullions. They chose Thermador appliances and a farm sink to complete the look and functionality. In their master bathroom, the vanity cabinet was customized to hold the items she uses, including a favorite hair dryer. A last-minute addition to the kitchen was the cabinet extension under their flatscreen TV to keep all the components and wires hidden from view while providing additional counter space. The breakfast bar makes a quick meal more comfortable.

The sink area is located in a cantilevered space. The bookcase facing the dining room conceals a narrow plumbing wall between the dining room and kitchen and gives the illusion that the dividing wall has been completely removed.
