Raised panel doors in cherry with a medium stain and coffee glaze have a rope detail on the front. A built up crown molding takes the cabinets to the ceiling giving it a taller look. A British client requested an 'unfitted' look. Robinson Interiors was called in to help create a space that appeared built up over time, with vintage elements. For this kitchen reclaimed wood was used along with three distinctly different cabinet finishes (Stained Wood, Ivory, and Vintage Green), multiple hardware styles (Black, Bronze and Pewter) and two different backsplash tiles. We even used some freestanding furniture (A vintage French armoire) to give it that European cottage feel. A fantastic 'SubZero 48' Refrigerator, a British Racing Green Aga stove, the super cool Waterstone faucet with farmhouse sink all hep create a quirky, fun, and eclectic space! We also included a few distinctive architectural elements, like the Oculus Window Seat (part of a bump-out addition at one end of the space) and an awesome bronze compass inlaid into the newly installed hardwood floors. This bronze plaque marks a pivotal crosswalk central to the home's floor plan. Finally, the wonderful purple and green color scheme is super fun and definitely makes this kitchen feel like springtime all year round! Masterful use of Pantone's Color of the year, Ultra Violet, keeps this traditional cottage kitchen feeling fresh and updated.

Full scale renovation in Santa Monica, CA. Before the renovation, this home was a dated, closed off space that had no flow. A wall was removed in the kitchen to create an open and inviting floor plan. All new interior shell details were selected by Kimberly Demmy Design - as well as all the furnishing that finished off the space. A remodel of a 1950s Cape Cod kitchen creates an informal and sunny space for the whole family. By relocating the window and making it a bay window, the work triangle flows better and more sunlight is captured. The white shaker style cabinets keep with the Cape Cod architectural style while making a crisp statement. The countertops are Caesarstone and the backsplash is natural limestone is a classic subway pattern. Above the cooktop is framed limestone in a herringbone pattern. The ceiling was raised to one level with recessed lighting directly above the countertops. A new bench seat for casual family dining takes up two feet from the kitchen and some of the family room. The small closet was converted to a desk area with easy access. New teak wood flooring was installed in the kitchen and family room for a cohesive and warm feeling.
