Mid century modern feeling in a beach house kitchen. I opened up a wall to give a light and bright feeling to the kitchen. The counter tops are white and the back splash is white marble with blue stone accents. It is reminiscent of a european cafe. I love the mix of textures, styles and color. • A busy family wanted to rejuvenate their entire first floor. As their family was growing, their spaces were getting more cramped and finding comfortable, usable space was no easy task. The goal of their remodel was to create a warm and inviting kitchen and family room, great room-like space that worked with the rest of the home’s floor plan. The focal point of the new kitchen is a large center island around which the family can gather to prepare meals. Exotic granite countertops and furniture quality light-colored cabinets provide a warm, inviting feel. Commercial-grade stainless steel appliances make this gourmet kitchen a great place to prepare large meals. A wide plank hardwood floor continues from the kitchen to the family room and beyond, tying the spaces together. The focal point of the family room is a beautiful stone fireplace hearth surrounded by built-in bookcases. Stunning craftsmanship created this beautiful wall of cabinetry which houses the home’s entertainment system. French doors lead out to the home’s deck and also let a lot of natural light into the space. From its beautiful, functional kitchen to its elegant, comfortable family room, this renovation achieved the homeowners’ goals. Now the entire family has a great space to gather and spend quality time.

Crestwood Traditional Roxbury Maple cabinets with a finish of Bordeaux Rembrandt (Artistry Collection which is an opaque color with a hand-applied glaze where base color is green) on island cabinets and a Cream finish on perimeter cabinets. 3 cm Costa Esmerelda polished granite countertops.

Full scale renovation in Santa Monica, CA. Before the renovation, this home was a dated, closed off space that had no flow. A wall was removed in the kitchen to create an open and inviting floor plan. All new interior shell details were selected by Kimberly Demmy Design - as well as all the furnishing that finished off the space. Tall oak wall cabinets painted in Farrow & Ball Chappell Green sit in this impressive converted chapel. Base cabinets contrast perfectly in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe. Oak worktops and shelving attached to slate wall tiles marry perfectly with the limestone flooring. The Rayburn range has tray slots built on the side. Toffee the dog enjoys the warmth while Steve the antlers watches over.

The aesthetics of the kitchen were critical because it is centrally located in the great room of which it is a part. The challenge was to integrate the kitchen into the larger space while making sure it didn't dominate it. We accomplished this by using a restrained color palette of cream, gold, gray-green and gray-blue with touches of deeper chocolate brown. The same colors repeat in the quartzite counters, arabesque stone mosaic back splash and stacked slate accent wall (also used in the fireplace in the living area). The uppermost cabinets feature glass doors and lighting to showcase a collection of crystal inherited from the client's grandmother. This feature is beautiful but also makes good use of cabinets too tall to reach conveniently. By installing White Macaubas Quartzite countertops, these homeowner's were able to obtain the look of marble without its porous qualities and maintenance. The White Macaubas Quartzite is carried into the breakfast nook as a buffet table countertop which ties the two spaces together beautifully. We partnered with DPM Designs, LLC of Medford, NJ on this project.

This white kitchen is grounded by the dark espresso island. Carrara marble island with wine storage on the side create a beautiful contrast to the white cabinets with the silestone grey countertops and herringbone backsplash tile. This kithchen renovation included the removal of a load bearing wall to open it up and make it feel bright and airy.

This kitchen has two "dead" corners, so in one (opposite side of stove) we installed a lazy susan, and in this one corner, since we did not have the room to wrap around the corner under the window without compromising the sink cabinet, we decided to include a "magic corner" pull-out, which brings the contents of the deepest part of the cabinet out within reach!
