For a single woman working in downtown San Francisco, we were tasked with remodeling her 500 sq.ft. Victorian garden condo. We brought in more light by enlarging most of the openings to the rear and adding a sliding glass door in the kitchen. The kitchen features custom zebrawood cabinets, CaesarStone counters, stainless steel appliances and a large, deep square sink. The bathroom features a wall-hung Duravit vanity and toilet, recessed lighting, custom, built-in medicine cabinets and geometric glass tile. Wood tones in the kitchen and bath add a note of warmth to the clean modern lines. We designed a soft blue custom desk/tv unit and white bookshelves in the living room to make the most out of the space available. A modern JØTUL fireplace stove heats the space stylishly. We replaced all of the Victorian trim throughout with clean, modern trim and organized the ducts and pipes into soffits to create as orderly look as possible with the existing conditions.

This kitchen design incorporates beautiful materials, sleek contemporary lines, and a well-planned layout to create a space that is as beautiful as the coastal view. The open plan design incorporates the kitchen separated from the living area by a peninsula, the adjacent dining area with a beverage bar, and a pantry with customized storage. The kitchen remodel incorporates Bosch appliances throughout, a Faber custom hood insert, and a Fagor undercabinet wine refrigerator in the beverage bar. The main cabinetry is Masterbrand Diamond Vibe flat panel cabinets in a warm wood finish, accented by Luxury Line Extra White finish cabinetry for the beverage bar. A walk-in pantry features white cabinetry with glass front upper cabinets for displaying glassware, and built-in shelves for extra storage. This kitchen design is the perfect place to prepare favorite meals in a well organized kitchen, and relax with family and friends all while appreciating the surrounding coastal view. The upper cabinets have glass inserts, and the lower cabinets are drawers. The island is designed for storage, as well as dining. There is a large built-in refrigerator, and a built-in gas oven.

A convergence of sleek contemporary style and organic elements culminate in this elevated esthetic. High gloss white contrasts with sustainable bamboo veneers, run horizontally, and stained a warm matte caramel color. The showpiece is the 3” bamboo framing around the tall units, engineered in strips that perfectly align with the breaks in the surrounding cabinetry. So as not to clutter the clean lines of the flat panel doors, the white cabinets open with touch latches, most of which have lift-up mechanisms. Base cabinets have integrated channel hardware in stainless steel, echoing the appliances. Storage abounds, with such conveniences as tray partitions, corner swing-out lazy susans, and assorted dividers and inserts for the profusion of large drawers. Pure white quartz countertops terminate in a waterfall end at the peninsula, where there’s room for three comfortable stools under the overhang. A unique feature is the execution of the cooktop: it’s set flush into the countertop, with a fascia of quartz below it; the cooktop’s knobs are set into that fascia. To assure a clean look throughout, the quartz is continued onto the backsplashes, punctuated by a sheet of stainless steel behind the rangetop and hood. Serenity and style in a hardworking space. "Desert Contemporary" design using a combination of flat panel and shaker cabinets in a warm, earthy wood stain. The counter tops are a gray quartz which blends nicely with the stone slab backsplash and slate floors. This is a contemporary kitchen with South West colors and elements which is why we've started calling it "Desert Contemporary." It's the perfect design for the desert. Enjoy!
