Our Kelowna based clients were eyeing a Vancouver interior designer, although there were plenty of capable ones locally. When we enquired as to why, they said they wanted a unique style, so we set out on our journey together. The design was totally based on the client’s passion for cooking and entertaining – one of them being an introvert, the other being an extrovert. We decided to fit two islands in the available space, so we started referring to them as “the introvert island” and “the extrovert island”.

To create this open-concept kitchen design the existing wall between the kitchen and living room was removed to design a new kitchen almost double in size. Shaker-style cabinets in a crisp white painted finish along the perimeter of the kitchen are accented with a large island in a bold navy finish. The island is the perfect location for a large prep space for cooking and accommodates seating for four in an L-shaped seating orientation - best for conversations. Gorgeous white Calacatta quartz countertops are paired with a beautiful marble-like backsplash hexagon tile. The backsplash is installed to the ceiling which elevates the look of this entire kitchen design. Accents of brushed gold finishes can be found throughout the kitchen design: such as the cabinet hardware, pull-down kitchen faucet, and island pendant light fixtures. The adjacent mudroom and powder room received an update as well. Complete with new patterned tile flooring, a mudroom bench with additional coat storage, new porcelain tile flooring, new teak vanity & champagne bronze faucets.

The client came to comma design in need of an upgrade to their existing kitchen to allow for more storage and cleaner look. They wanted to swap their laminate bench to a sleek stone bench tops that can provide a luxurious loo to their space. Comma design worked closely with the trades on site to achieve the results.

And we are cabinet dealers for 8 nationally distributed cabinet lines much like traditional showrooms. Appointment Information Unlike full showrooms open to the general public, Main Line Kitchen Design works only by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled days, nights, and weekends either in your home or in our office and selection center. During office appointments we display clients kitchens on a flat screen TV and help them look through 100’s of sample doorstyles, almost a thousand sample finish blocks and sample kitchen cabinets. During home visits we can bring samples, take measurements, and make design changes on laptops showing you what your kitchen can look like in the very room being renovated. This is more convenient for our customers and it eliminates the expense of staffing and maintaining a larger space that is open to walk in traffic. We pass the significant savings on to our customers and so we sell cabinetry for less than other dealers, even home centers like Lowes and The Home Depot. We believe that since a web site like Houzz.com has over half a million kitchen photos, any advantage to going to a full kitchen showroom with full kitchen displays has been lost. Almost no customer today will ever get to see a display kitchen in their door style and finish because there are just too many possibilities. And the design of each kitchen is unique anyway. Our design process allows us to spend more time working on our customer’s designs. This is what we enjoy most about our business and it is what makes the difference between an average and a great kitchen design. This kitchen remodel started with a complete change of the existing floor plan, transforming it into a completely new, open layout. The new kitchen shows one of our favorite fresh traditional styles with a timeless color palette. Rustic - knotty oak cabinets with white painted accents are complimented by white quartz counter tops and a custom designed, eye catching backsplash where the grout color becomes part of the design pattern. We are incredibly delighted to present the following project to our fans! This full home remodel exemplifies luxury in every way. The expansive kitchen features two large islands perfect for prepping and servicing large gatherings, floor to ceiling cabinetry for abundant storage and display purposes, and Cambria quartz countertops for durability and luster.
