Within a spectacular landscape at the edge the forest and the Snake River plain, the design of this residence is governed by the presence of the mountains. A single glass wall unifies all rooms as part of, or opening onto, this view. This unification of interior/exterior exhibits the modern notion of interior space as a continuum of universal space. The culture of this house is its simple layout and its connection to the context through literal transparency, but also a nod to the timelessness of the mountain geology. The contrast of materials defines the interior character. Durable, clapboard formed concrete extends inside under a ceiling of lapped alder wood panels that extend over the entry carport and generous overhang. Take a moment to enjoy the tranquil and cozy feel of this rustic cottage kitchen and bathroom. With the whole bunkie outfitted in cabinetry with a warm, neutral finish and decorative metal hardware, this space feels right at home as a welcoming retreat surrounded by nature. ⠀ The space is refreshing and rejuvenating, with floral accents, lots of natural light, and clean, bright faucets, but pays tribute to traditional elegance with a special place to display fine china, detailed moulding, and a rustic chandelier. ⠀ The couple that owns this bunkie has done a beautiful job maximizing storage space and functionality, without losing one ounce of character or the peaceful feel of a streamlined, cottage life.

We turned this home's two-car garage into a Studio ADU in Van Nuys. The Studio ADU is fully equipped to live independently from the main house. The ADU has a kitchenette, living room space, closet, bedroom space, and a full bathroom. Upon demolition and framing, we reconfigured the garage to be the exact layout we planned for the open concept ADU. We installed brand new windows, drywall, floors, insulation, foundation, and electrical units. The kitchenette has to brand new appliances from the brand General Electric. The stovetop, refrigerator, and microwave have been installed seamlessly into the custom kitchen cabinets. The kitchen has a beautiful stone-polished countertop from the company, Ceasarstone, called Blizzard. The off-white color compliments the bright white oak tone of the floor and the off-white walls. The bathroom is covered with beautiful white marble accents including the vanity and the shower stall. The shower has a custom shower niche with white marble hexagon tiles that match the shower pan of the shower and shower bench. The shower has a large glass-higned door and glass enclosure. The single bowl vanity has a marble countertop that matches the marble tiles of the shower and a modern fixture that is above the square mirror. The studio ADU is perfect for a single person or even two. There is plenty of closet space and bedroom space to fit a queen or king-sized bed. It has a brand new ductless air conditioner that keeps the entire unit nice and cool.

Gut renovation of a triplex apartment in New York city meat packing area. In this project, we identified the challenge of renovating a triplex as finding a way to integrate the stairs, so as to not take up the entire width of a narrow house, as well as to minimize the feeling of constantly having to run up and down to connect floors. This twelve-foot-wide townhouse consists of a cellar living room, a master bedroom suite on the upper floor, and a kitchen and dining area on the entry level. In trying to weave together these different floors, the aim of the project was to transform the stairs and steps into a fluid space that combines transition and rest. The steps were designed to be integrated with the architecture, cantilevering from the wall and almost disappearing. The living room on the ground plane folds into the garden through steps and a full-window wall, effectively extending the garden into the living room. From the garden to the entry level, the stairs were transformed into a platform and space for meditation within the open-space living room, dining room and kitchen. The introduction of a skylight midway through the length of the triplex permits natural light to flow to the back of the home, blending into the natural light coming in through the window facing the garden. The skylight also revealed a view of the trees hanging over the townhouse, framing the master bedroom suite from above and extending down with a view towards the garden

We expanded a formerly dark, small, outdated kitchen and made it open, bright and airy. The glass doors and open plate rack of the kitchen cabinets add depth, color and geometry to the room. The door knobs and cabinet hardware are round simple forms, a detail that echoes the round table and art form shapes on the walls.

Pour une élégance parfaite, la partie cuisson a la possibilité d’être masquée grâce à une porte de placard pivotante intégrant de nombreux rangements. Ainsi, le four, la plaque, et le micro-ondes sont complètement invisibles une fois la porte refermée. Le réfrigérateur est également dissimulé derrière une façade de placard. Pour un design épuré, les façades des meubles hauts et bas ont été choisies lisses et sans aucune poignée.
