We found this beautiful door at a local architectural salvage shop, and switched the entrance to the basement from the left (where the island is) to this wall to show off the beautiful door and allow us to build a kitchen island.

This collaboration was with a return client, who wanted to completely restore and renovate her over 100-year-old Victorian. It was key for the homeowner maintained the original footprint of the home with full front to back views of the sound. A contemporary vision translated into slab doors in a navy high-gloss finish for the island and smoky white for the perimeter and upper cabinetry. Simple, satin nickel contemporary hardware reiterates the linear elements throughout. Interior detailing features rich walnut to complement the herringbone floors. The custom hood is hammered stainless steel to play off the plinth block island legs. The undeniable focal point is the stunning Calacatta Corchia marble selected for the countertops and full-height backsplash and walls. The lighting is a unique, suspended adjustable LED fixture. The twin side-by-side Sub-Zero Pro Fridge/Freezer columns include a glass front to highlight interior storage. The Wolf 60" range with pro handles features 2 30" full-size ovens, 6 burners, and a double griddle. The retractable doors in the wet bar cleverly close to hide the sink and bottle storage. A peninsula with white quartz countertop replaces a wall that blocked the beautiful views. The peninsula adds dining and prep areas as well as storage space; the rounded front softens the edge and prevents a linear look. Bar stools in a faux ostrich texture performance fabric are embellished with steel nail heads. Overhead, we added a soffit to the cement ceiling for additional lighting and to conceal gas pipes.

Create another space with a kitchen pennisula. With a kitchen peninsula, you have a breakfast bar, counter space, under counter storage drawers, and perhaps a working area with a Smart USP electrical outlet. This kitchen was designed with European French influences in a color palette of French blue, white, black and gold. The custom cabinetry was a labor of love with a hand carved quilted diamond pattern (the carving details of our cabinets are never machine made!) and lovely swirl stiles on the glass front cabinets. The marble throughtout is Carrara, the range hood in cast stone and the three fancy light pendants were custom made to order.

A kitchen renovation creating an improved layout, better lighting and increasing storage by more than double in Jersey CI. This kitchen has a listed ceiling which impacted the lighting options and previously had very poor storage solutions. The pink wall colour makes the room feel bigger and less gloomy than the previous white.
