The kitchen is a mix of exquisite detail and simple design solutions. Cabinetry is installed with a 1" shadow line to create the illusion that it is floating beneath the counters. Exciting without being at all overwrought or bombastic.” This shingle-style cottage in a small coastal village provides its owners a cherished spot on Maine’s rocky coastline. This home adapts to its immediate surroundings and responds to views, while keeping solar orientation in mind. Sited one block east of a home the owners had summered in for years, the new house conveys a commanding 180-degree view of the ocean and surrounding natural beauty, while providing the sense that the home had always been there. Marvin Ultimate Double Hung Windows stayed in line with the traditional character of the home, while also complementing the custom French doors in the rear. The specification of Marvin Window products provided confidence in the prevalent use of traditional double-hung windows on this highly exposed site. The ultimate clad double-hung windows were a perfect fit for the shingle-style character of the home. Marvin also built custom French doors that were a great fit with adjacent double-hung units. This stunning stainless steel refrigerator is a beautiful focal point to this custom kitchen. Offering ample storage, this kitchen layout with deep blue cabinets, marble countertops and black and white tiled floors is a homeowner’s dream.

Morey Remodeling Group's kitchen design and remodel helped this multi-generational household in Garden Grove, CA achieve their desire to have two cooking areas and additional storage. The custom mix and match cabinetry finished in Dovetail Grey and Navy Hale were designed to provide more efficient access to spices and other kitchen related items. Flat Black hardware was added for a hint of contrast. Durable Pental Quartz counter tops in Venoso with Carrara white polished marble interlocking pattern backsplash tile is displayed behind the range and undermount sink areas. Energy efficient LED light fixtures and under counter task lighting enhances the entire space. The flooring is Paradigm water proof luxury vinyl.

The design brief for this project was to create a kitchen befitting an English country cottage. Denim beadboard cabinetry, aged tile, and natural stone countertops provide the feel of timelessness, while the antiqued bronze fixtures and decorative vent hood deliver a sense of bespoke craftsmanship. Efficient use of space planning creates a kitchen that packs a powerful punch into a small footprint. The end result was everything the client hoped for and more, giving them the cottage kitchen of their dreams!

We started the design process by selecting inspiration colors from Dunn Edwards paints. We chose Rainer White, Dark Lagoon and Mesa Tan colors inspired by a fabric swatch that the client wanted to use somewhere in their home. After the general design and space planning of the kitchen was complete, the clients were shown many colored, 3D renderings to show how it would look before settling on the Dark Lagoon upper cabinets, tall cabinets and pantry. For the island and base cabinets, we chose Alder wood with a stain color that complemented the inspiration color of Mesa Tan. Walls throughout the house were painted Rainer White.

A transitional kitchen design with Earth tone color palette. Natural wood cabinets at the perimeter and grey wash cabinets for the island, tied together with high variant "slaty" porcelain tile floor. A simple grey quartz countertop for the perimeter and copper flecked grey quartz on the island. Stainless steel appliances and fixtures, black cabinet and drawer pulls, hammered copper pendant lights, and a contemporary range backsplash tile accent.

Custom shelving is 2" thick eastern pine with a natural edge cut from tree. Finished with a custom stain to enhance the natural grain of the wood and highlighted with driftwood colors to enrich complete driftwood theme throughout house.
