I designed this kitchen during my time at Harvey Jones. The client knew she wanted to feature colour but was concerned due to the narrowness of the room. By opting for natural limestone flooring and bright white walls to contrast, we were able to bring in beautiful blues and still maintain an airy, open feeling. I later designed (and Handley Bespoke built), the centre blue bookcase to complement the chosen kitchen cabinetry, featuring a hidden door leading into a cosy drinks snug. This is a great example of how bespoke builds can be made to fit in with your existing cabinetry.

Stunning quartz countertops with waterfall overflow effect contrasts beautifully with the maple cabinetry and bold shiplap hood. The hood was custom designed by our Designer Janna and manufactured by our very own craftsmen at Sea Pointe Construction.

Welcome to this sophisticated kitchen full of grey tones. The perimeter is a soft white with a grey brushstroke while the island is a rich grey with an onyx brushstoke. The contrast is subtle and beautiful. This is a 48" Wolf range and two sub zero tower refrigeration units. One a freezer one a refrigerator. The classic modern design of this kitchen was planned for an active young family of four who uses the space as their central hub for gathering, eating and staying connected. Our goals were to create a beautiful and highly functional kitchen with an emphasis on cabinet organization, heated floors and incorporating a live edge slab countertop. We removed an existing bulky island and replaced it with a new island that while only 60 x 26 in size packs a powerful punch housing a baking center, trash/recycle center, microwave oven and cookbook storage. The island seemed the natural place for the gorgeous live edge slab coupled with vintage mercury glass light pendants that make for a truly stunning kitchen island. Polished carrara quartz perimeter counters pair beautifully with the watery blue-green glass backsplash tile. A message center conveniently located on a side panel of the refrigerator cabinet houses built in mailboxes, a family calendar and magnetic surface to display the children’s artwork. Black laminate with a tight wood grain embossed pattern was selected for the cabinets and feature brushed metal hardware. This is sharply contrasted with stark white quartz countertops and white glass backsplash tile. Newlyweds had just moved into their new home and immediately wanted to update their kitchen which is located in the center of the household, lacking any natural light source of its own. To make matters worse, the cabinets in place were dark red with black countertops. Not the picture of brightness they were looking for. To increase the amount of light reflected throughout the kitchen, we incorporated some of the following updates: 1. Replaced the solo ceiling light with 4 recessed cans 2. Updated the florescent undercabinet lights with new LED strips 3. Installed custom white cabinets topped with Silestone’s new Artic Ocean white countertops 4. Updated the dark glass pendants over the bar with larger, clear glass pendants that spoke more to the history of the home 5. Painted the walls a soft gray to compliment the palette The original kitchen layout was updated to eliminate the existing soffits and open the visual feel of the space. A large white farm sink now centers the natural wood bar area, inviting guests to sit and gather for ballgames and celebrations. A Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project (REMMIES Award Winning Kitchen) The original kitchen lacked counter space and seating for the homeowners and their family and friends. It was important for the homeowners to utilize every inch of usable space for storage, function and entertaining, so many organizational inserts were used in the kitchen design. Bamboo cabinets, cork flooring and neolith countertops were used in the design. Storage Solutions include a spice pull-out, towel pull-out, pantry pull outs and lemans corner cabinets. Bifold lift up cabinets were also used for convenience. Special organizational inserts were used in the Pantry cabinets for maximum organization. Keeping an open concept between the kitchen and family room was a 'must'. Breaking the spaces with cabinetry and wrapping the support structure created an elegant separation between the two spaces while keeping it open.

Like most high rises in the city, this kitchen was lacking in square footage. To give the illusion of more space, super white cabinetry from Grabill Cabinet Company and Arabascato quartzite countertops were installed. Perfect for entertaining, dual peninsulas comfortably provide seating for four people. The multi-tiered ceiling provides both general task lighting & ambient cove lighting accentuating the architectural details in this kitchen. The Wolf induction cooktop and single oven, along with the Broan ventilation system, fit perfectly on limited available wall space. Neutral arabesque glass backsplash tile was used on the wall behind the hood to create an eye-catching focal point.
