Designed by Simon Cox from Joyce Kitchens, this stunning kitchen features an abundance of storage space and a practical U-shaped layout. Uniting the living area and kitchen, the dual-height island bench delivers everyday convenience. Fitted with TANDEMBOX antaro drawers by Blum and two LeMans II corner units by Häfele, the kitchen provides plenty of highly functional storage space. Bevelled-edged SmartPanel® acrylic doors in ‘Alaska SuperGloss’ were selected for the cabinetry, which is beautifully complemented by the ‘Intense White’ Caesarstone benchtops. Polytec veneer in ‘Natural Oak’ features on the overhead cabinetry and island-bench extension, which fosters a warm and welcoming ambiance. The central position of the island allows for simultaneous cooking and socialising, while perfectly accommodating the homeowners’ passion for entertaining.

Kitchen & Bedrooms - Westgate, Kent Having been very impressed with the professional design service, quality of manufacturing and installation provided by Ream with their bedroom; there was no alternative supplier in mind when Mr and Mrs Till searched for their new kitchen and two bedrooms for their holiday home in Westgate in Kent. Before designing the new layout, Paul from Ream learnt of the specific requirements Mr and Mrs Till wanted and measured the kitchen and bedrooms on a home visit. Through working closely with the clients, Paul was able to understand the functional and practical ideas they wanted, which greatly helped him when it came to designing the rooms. From the bespoke design we set about manufacturing the highest quality cabinets, and worked with our trusted appliance suppliers to install the contemporary kitchen and bedrooms. Ryan and Lee, our two experienced kitchen and bedroom specialists, ensured the installation was seamless and stress free. "This is the second time we have used Ream. The designs have been excellent as the Design Team listened to what we wanted and were able to interpret our ideas into reality. The build and installation quality is fantastic. Custom designed and lacquered slatted curved ends to the overheads add texture and interest to the chalky matte cabinetry The use of existing timber that had been used in other areas of the home, not wanting to waste the beautiful pieces, I incorporated these into the design The kitchen needed a modern transformation, selection of chalky black slabbed doors are carefully considered whilst detailed curved slatted ends bounce natural light, concrete grey matte benches, reflective glass custom coloured back splash and solid timber details creates a beautifully modern industrial elegant interior.

Design Statement: My design challenge was to create and build a new ultra modern kitchen with a futuristic flare. This state of the art kitchen was to be equipped with an ample amount of usable storage and a better view of the outside while balancing design and function. Some of the project goals were to include the following; a multi-level island with seating for four people, dramatic use of lighting, state of the art appliances, a generous view of the outside and last but not least, to create a kitchen space that looks like no other...”The WOW Factor”. This challenging project was a completely new design and full renovation. The existing kitchen was outdated and in desperate need help. My new design required me to remove existing walls, cabinetry, flooring, plumbing, electric…a complete demolition. My job functions were to be the interior designer, GC, electrician and a laborer. Construction and Design The existing kitchen had one small window in it like many kitchens. The main difficulty was…how to create more windows while gaining more cabinet storage. As a designer, our clients require us to think out of the box and give them something that they may have never dreamed of. I did just that. I created two 8’ glass backsplashes (with no visible supports) on the corner of the house. This was not easy task, engineering of massive blind headers and lam beams were used to support the load of the new floating walls. A generous amount of 48” high wall cabinets flank the new walls and appear floating in air seamlessly above the glass backsplash. Technology and Design The dramatic use of the latest in LED lighting was used. From color changing accent lights, high powered multi-directional spot lights, decorative soffit lights, under cabinet and above cabinet LED tape lights…all to be controlled from wall panels or mobile devises. A built-in ipad also controls not only the lighting, but a climate controlled thermostat, house wide music streaming with individually controlled zones, alarm system, video surveillance system and door bell. Materials and design Large amounts of glass and gloss; glass backsplash, iridescent glass tiles, raised glass island counter top, Quartz counter top with iridescent glass chips infused in it. 24” x 24” high polished porcelain tile flooring to give the appearance of water or glass. The custom cabinets are high gloss lacquer with a metallic fleck. All doors and drawers are Blum soft-close. The result is an ultra sleek and highly sophisticated design. Appliances and design All appliances were chosen for the ultimate in sleekness. These appliances include: a 48” built-in custom paneled subzero refrigerator/freezer, a built-in Miele dishwasher that is so quiet that it shoots a red led light on the floor to let you know that its on., a 36” Miele induction cook top and a built-in 200 bottle wine cooler. Some other cool features are the led kitchen faucet that changes color based on the water temperature. A stainless and glass wall hood with led lights. The blue splash-back is a real show-stopper; it adds a unique, characterful touch which really finishes off the kitchen very well indeed.

CCI Renovations/North Vancouver/Photos - Derek Lepper. The kitchen was broken up into distinct work stations - the clean up area with two dishwashers, a prep area that includes two fridges, two crisper drawers and prep sink, two cooking areas - one for the cook top and one for the double ovens (one with a warming drawer), a beverage centre that includes a cappuccino machine and double beverage fridges and, finally a separate pantry. Cabinets and appliances are equipped with book matched cherry fronts. All utility drawers and fridge/freezer units on the oven wall are equipped with handles acquired from the oven manufacturer. A automatic motorized drop down TV is located behind the cabinets to the left of the cook top while another motorized drop down shelf to the right provides a place to hide medicines. The large overstated raised section of the island along with the "Bocci" style lighting above deliver extra seating as well as a well lit buffet area during large, usually catered events while also providing a focal point for the room.
