While this is a beach house kitchen, it would sit just as comfortably in an exclusive home on the European Alps. There is a lot of timber in this kitchen, yet there is no feeling of timber overload a la 1970's scandi-mania! So, what keeps this timber chic? High impact black engineered stone bench tops take the eye from the wood giving a feeling of warmth and a laid back air. Hard wearing terracotta ground the timber without going overboard on the brown tones. There is a definite luxurious cinnamon flavour happening here and it is pulled off expertly by the designer.

After 17 years living with their original kitchen in their home in Maidstone, our clients decided they wanted to enlarge and completely redesign their kitchen. “We liked our original kitchen cabinets, but the kitchen space was too small and restrictive.” Asking the opinion of friends and family as well as visiting other kitchen showrooms in the Maidstone area, our clients were inspired by Ream’s 8,000 sq. ft. showroom in Gillingham with over 25 kitchen styles. “There is a nice family feel to the showroom, and everyone was helpful with our questions,” says Mrs D. Lara, Ream’s Kitchen Designer, worked on the kitchen layout and design. “Lara is an excellent kitchen designer, she had some really good ideas”, say Mr & Mrs D from Maidstone. “Lara is quick and fantastic at turning her ideas into 3D design. We have no hesitation in recommending Lara for her kitchen designing.” “A local building company carried out the structural work to enlarge the kitchen area and prepare it for the Ream fitting team to come in and install the kitchen,” says Mr D. "he team were friendly and efficient, and we were kept informed and updated by Emma, Ream’s Project Coordinator, the whole time.” “We are very happy with our new kitchen and can still scarcely believe the transformation. The kitchen looks even better in reality than in Lara’s design images and we also have had great feedback from our family and friends”, says Mrs D.

Die Unterbauspüle von Blanco mit 2 Becken bietet ausreichend Platz zum Gemüse waschen und abtropfen lassen, sie kann bei Bedarf auch durch Abtropfkörbe erweitert werden. Das Becken ist in anthrazit gehalten, die Granitplatte in Nero Assoluto fast schwarz. Dazu passend eine Armatur in Edelstahl mit 2 Auslässen um gefiltertes Wasser seperat ausgießen zu können. Das flächenbündige 80cm-Kochfeld liegt ergonomisch tiefer und hat durch die Flächeninduktion Platz für viele große Töpfe. Rechts vom Kochfeld haben wir einen Korbauszug um alle Gewürze und Öle griffbereit zu halten. Das Kochbesteck findet sich direkt im Schub unter der Kochstelle. Fotos: Marco Bräunig

Links von der Kochstelle wird die Ecke durch einen LeMans-Auszug bestmöglich genutzt. Darin lassen sich Töpfe und Schüsseln auf 2 Ebenen gut verstauen und durch die Schwenkmechanik komplett aus dem Eckschrank herausziehen. Fotos: Marco Bräunig
