A complete house remodel with an extended open plan kitchen dining living space. Our client was looking for a Scandinavian inspired kitchen with exposed wood and clean lines. The symmetrical units also house the fridge and freezer keeping everything minimal and hidden away.

This client was looking to design a mid-century modern kitchen with an industrial touch that would feel bigger and improve its workflow by changing the layout. Additionally, the client was looking to change the laundry room to make it less crowded and more functional. We placed the previously unused pantry in an area, between the kitchen and the powder bathroom on the other side of the wall, increasing their pantry space from very small to 32 SF. We moved the fridge, sink, and cook-top to increase proximity to each other and improve workflow. We still used some of the space from the old pantry to hold spices and other essential cooking ingredients in an accessible-for-cooking area next to the fridge. We opened up the countertop to be a straight line all the way to their dining room, instead of the "L" they had before, which made the space feel smaller. We changed the orientation of their dining room table. We turned their bar, which they were not so keen on, into a wine rack. We created a buffet space in their dining room.

This kitchen was a fraction of the size it is now and compartmentalized in a way that really didn't encourage family gathering. Now - come on in and take your pick...it's all open, and inviting, bright and happy! Part of our direction was the bullet-proof nature of the space. The porcelain wood plank floors are durable and easy to clean. The Cleaf material on the cabinets are a workhorse material to consider. And the DalTile One Quartz counter top material is easy to clean and resistant to stains while emulating a marble look. I consider myself a purist, but damn...porcelain and engineered quartz has evolved leaps and bounds from what they once were.

Our client wanted a kitchen that would effortlessly blend form and function, focusing on maximising space and providing practical storage solutions. They envisioned a space with plenty of drawers and pullouts, ensuring easy accessibility to all their kitchen essentials. Durability and long-lasting wear were paramount; they wanted a kitchen that would stand the test of time. But above all, they desired a sleek and minimalistic design, with all worktop appliances cleverly hidden away to create a clutter-free, easy-to-clean and maintain-friendly environment. Embracing a warm and feminine palette, we chose the Nobilia Sand - Anti-Fingerprint range to set the tone for this elegant kitchen. The soft, neutral shades create a soothing ambience, while the anti-fingerprint technology ensures that the surfaces stay pristine, even with daily use. To add a striking focal point to the kitchen, we incorporated a 20mm Trillium worktop supplied by Dekton. This bold statement piece adds character and offers excellent durability, making it an ideal choice for a kitchen that demands style and functionality. As for the appliances, we carefully selected the best in the market to complement the kitchen's design and meet our client's needs. The Siemens Ovens provide state-of-the-art cooking capabilities, while the Quooker Tap offers instant boiling water for ultimate convenience. The Elica-Nikola Tesla downdraft Hob delivers efficient ventilation and boasts a sleek and seamless appearance, perfectly aligning with the kitchen's handless design. To further enhance the kitchen's functionality, we incorporated some clever features, including sliding doors that lead to a hidden walk-in utility space, ensuring easy access to laundry essentials while keeping them discreetly tucked away. In line with our client's desire for practicality, we added a hidden pullout shelf on the worktop, specially designed to accommodate their heavy Thermomix, making it easily accessible when needed and neatly stowed away when not in use. The island, a central gathering spot, also serves as additional storage space with carefully crafted storage options on the back, making the most of every inch of the kitchen's layout. This kitchen project is a testament to our commitment to making our client's vision a reality. With a focus on space optimisation, practicality, and a feminine touch, this Nobilia kitchen has been transformed into a functional, elegant, and timeless space that our clients will enjoy for many years to come. The Oliver/Fox residence was a home and shop that was designed for a young professional couple, he a furniture designer/maker, she in the Health care services, and their two young daughters.

A esta vivienda, de tipologia lote, situada en el centro histórico de Ordizia; se le ha dado la vuelta literalmente. Originalmente, la casa, dividida en diferentes estancias pequeñas y comunicadas mediante pasillos; disponía de las zonas de día, como la cocina, en la parte trasera de ésta, mirando a un patio pequeño de manzana; mientras que, el salón ocupaba uno de los habitáculos centrales sin ventana alguna. Así, se decide llevar la zona de día al frente de la casa, volcándolos a la calle y creando un único espacio; mientras que, las dos habitaciones, cogen sitio en la parte trasera de la vivienda, en la zona más tranquila. Entre la zona de día y de noche, uniendo estos dos espacios, nos encontramos con un pasillo que contienen «una pastilla de servicio», ocupando así, la zona mas oscura de la vivienda. A la casa se le ha ganado luz utilizando materiales nobles como el roble así como tonos naturales; para ello, se ha acentuado la estructura existente de madera, pintándola en blanco y utilizando una iluminación indirecta.

La reforma de la cuina es basa en l’eliminació d’un passadís per a guanyar espai a la nova cuina, i que aquesta estigui relacionada directament amb el menjador. El resultat es una cuina àmplia i còmoda, es pot tancar amb una porta corredissa si es vol independitzar del menjador. S’aposta per una reforma integral de mobiliari, paviment i sostre per a donar homogeneïtat al conjunt de la reforma. La reforma de la cocina se basa en la eliminación de un pasillo para ganar espacio en la nueva cocina, y que ésta esté relacionada directamente con el comedor. El resultado es una cocina amplia y cómoda, se puede cerrar con una puerta corredera si se quiere independizar del comedor. Se apuesta por una reforma integral de mobiliario, pavimento y techo para dar homogeneidad al conjunto de la reforma.
