What used to be a dated 1980's u-shaped kitchen without any flow or interest is now an open and inviting gathering space with plenty of room to cook and for everyone to sit or walk around. We squared off the bay window area making cabinets with drawers and pull-outs a possibility, plus the extra deep sink cabinet has room for a filtered water/carbonated water system. The side windows are easy to reach, and one is a pass through to the BBQ area. The island doubles as a large dining table and has a prep sink that can also be used by the bar area and refrigerator/microwave/leftovers area without bothering the chef. Also in the island is a Perlick ice maker, wicker pull out baskets for fruits and vegetable and an open bookcase for cookbooks and to tuck away school/homework supplies. All the tall items like the refrigerator, pantry and wall ovens are grouped together to one side to keep the room from getting too choppy. The bar area has a beverage refrigerator and liquor and stemware storage but also has a charging station and drop zone storage since it is next to the door coming from the garage. Los clientes me contactaran para realizar una reforma de la área living de su casa porque no se sentían a gusto con los espacios que tenían, ya que eran muy cerrados, obstruyan la luz y no eran prácticos para su estilo de vida. De este modo, lo primero que sugerimos ha sido tirar las paredes del hall de entrada, eliminar el armario empotrado en esa área que también bloqueaba el espacio y la pared maestra divisoria entre la cocina y salón. Hemos redistribuido el espacio para una cocina y hall abiertos con una península que comunican con el comedor y salón. El resultado es un espacio living acogedor donde toda la familia puede convivir en conjunto, sin ninguna barrera. La casa se ha vuelto mas luminosa y comunica también con el espacio exterior. Los clientes nos comentaran que muchas veces dejan la puerta del jardín abierta y pueden estar cocinando y viendo las plantas del exterior, lo que para ellos es un placer. Los muebles de la cocina se han dibujado à medida y realizado con nuestro carpintero de confianza. Para el color de los armarios se han realizado varias muestras, hasta que conseguimos el tono ideal, ya que era un requisito muy importante. Todos los electrodomésticos se han empotrado y hemos dejado a vista 2 nichos para dar mas ligereza al mueble y poder colocar algo decorativo. Cada vez más el espacio entre salón y cocina se diluye, entonces dibujamos cocinas que son una extensión de este espacio y le llamamos al conjunto el espacio Living o zona día. A nivel de materiales, se han utilizado, tiradores de la marca italiana Formani, la encimera y salpicadero son de Porcelanosa Xstone, fregadero de Blanco, grifería de Plados, lámparas de la casa francesa Honoré Deco y papel de pared con hojas tropicales de Casamance.

We removed a wall and opened up this kitchen and dining room to bring in light and connect it to the living room. We used an eclectic mix of materials to reflect the owners tastes and needs.

These dining room cabinets not only serve as homeschooling storage, they also do double duty as a buffet and serving area for guests. In the future, as the kids grow, these can convert into storage for platters, napkins, tablecloths, and all of the "stuff" of dining and entertaining.

It was time to replace the kitchen and our homeowner wanted to make a statement with a bright and airy new space. We started by replacing the floor with extra large porcilain tiles, followed by beautiful stacked cabinetry painted with Benjamin Moore "Chantilly Lace". New Cambria Quartz countertops and backsplash followed. A new hutch area was also installed complete with glass accents and lighting throughout. Stunning!

A bright open kitchen/family room floor plan was achieved by eliminating the wall between the rooms to create a larger space conducive to entertaining and accommodating the busy life of a family with 3 boys and a dog. Vinyl floors look elegant and are family-friendly.

This single-family home purchased by a young family in Sterling, Virginia needed a kitchen and living space remodel. This family did not want separate kitchen and family spaces separated by a bearing wall. Our expert team got to work redesigning the spaces. By removing the wall and placing a large-scale island in place of the previous island, both kitchen and living spaces were opened up. The refrigerator and other tall elements were relocated to a north wall and covered with closet doors. By eliminating a window on one side, we enlarged the west wall of the kitchen to allow for new features such as a large-scale gas stove, custom-made metal hood surrounded by floating shelves, a full backsplash of granite covers up this entire wall. The previous north wall had a large-sized refrigerator and freezer, built-in coffee maker, microwave along with plenty of pantry and storage space. The new island sitting at the center of the kitchen, includes a farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and other amenities with plenty of seating. A new wood floor was installed across the entire space with a new stain color complimenting the island cabinet finish. The family room closet was converted to feature a wet bar area including a beverage center with display glass cabinets, a wine cooler, ice maker and decorated with waterjet backsplash & sconce lights. The high-end professional appliances and unique contrast between the stone top and cabinet finish make this kitchen remodel an award-winning project.
