Our design Choices This kitchen features the Pronorm Y-Line range in Pebble Grey Lacquer, presenting a sleek and minimalist aesthetic. Meanwhile, the central island in Dark Steel finish adds a touch of sophistication. Worktop and Appliances The Artscut Calacatta Royal Gold Quartz worktops and matching full-height splashback add a touch of luxury to the space. Siemens appliances, known for their advanced technology, contribute to the kitchen's functionality and modern appeal. Including a Franke sink and Quooker tap enhances the efficiency and convenience of daily kitchen tasks. Special Features The focal point of this kitchen is the island, complete with a sink, which is centrally positioned and serves as a multifunctional workspace and a focal point for socialising. The brief for this unique kitchen was for it to be ‘a huge piece of furniture’. Well….. challenge accepted. To achieve this goal, we knew that we needed to approach the design from the details outwards, so we started with the cabinet doors. As the kitchen was to be over three levels rather than the traditional two, and because we wanted to articulate the idea of ‘furniture’ rather than ‘kitchen cabinets’, we designed three complimentary cabinet doors, each with their own personalities. Door pulls and pan hooks were made from beautiful hexagonal brass rods, and drawers were lined for cutlery, utensils and cookware. A slim shelf above the splashback provided a place for kitchen essentials like salt and oil. The mid-level of the kitchen was kept clean and uncluttered by means of our signature F+B ‘School House’ off-white lacquer, so that the wood didn’t feel overpowering. But the main event is the truss shelf that spans the open side of the kitchen like a portal frame. This beautifully detailed piece of Japanese-inspired design gives space for the client’s collection of Asian ceramics, and for our bespoke Japanese shoji paper lanterns, which light the space. A unique kitchen, handmade like only a furniture maker could.

VISION AND NEEDS: Homeowner sought a ‘retreat’ outside of NY that would have water views and offer options for entertaining groups of friends in the house and by pool. Being a car enthusiast, it was important to have a multi-car-garage. MCHUGH SOLUTION: The client sought McHugh because of our recognizable modern designs in the area. We were up for the challenge to design a home with a narrow lot located in a flood zone where views of the Toms River were secured from multiple rooms; while providing privacy on either side of the house. The elevated foundation offered incredible views from the roof. Each guest room opened up to a beautiful balcony. Flower beds, beautiful natural stone quarried from West Virginia and cedar siding, warmed the modern aesthetic, as you ascend to the front porch.

The jewel of this luxury kitchen renovation is the Tiffany blue gas range and matching bell hood by Officine Gullo. While the nautically inspired chrome fixtures and full-height white cabinets with satin brass hardware by Lisa Jarvis brighten the space, the crown molding and inset details lend a hand to the classic interiors aesthetic.

This silver and black kitchenette is a part of the master bedroom suite. It serves its primary purpose, as well as additional storage as the front of the island has been designed as a dresser. The back of the island has an overhang under which a pair of counter stools are placed.

This kitchen was initially a U shape separate room off the corridor. It was dark and isolated from the rest of the apartment. We decided to knock down the walls separating it from the living area and design this small but stunning and practical kitchen.
