Warm walnut tones coupled with sleek gold hardware adds beauty to this mid-century modern kitchen. Blue cabinetry and mosaic tile enhance the laundry room.

A modern dresser, in solid walnut, for this modern but classic home. This kitchen was designed around the idea of a ‘modern dresser’. We love rework and renew traditional kitchen typologies and the dresser, as a piece of kitchen furniture, seemed ripe for the challenge. With the client's love of dark timber, solid walnut was a great choice. Our first move was to float the piece off the floor, which increased the perception of space in the room. It’s a great feature that helps to avoided the bulkiness from which some kitchens suffer. A reading seat was incorporated, complete with Anglepoise lamp, with a backrest lined in solid hardwood. Walnut was used for all the feature elements in the kitchen, including a floating bookcase and lined entrance way. The drawers and cabinetry, in contrast to the walnut, were finished in a crisp, clean, block grey. A contemporary, white Aga finished the design.

Los clientes me contactaran para realizar una reforma de la área living de su casa porque no se sentían a gusto con los espacios que tenían, ya que eran muy cerrados, obstruyan la luz y no eran prácticos para su estilo de vida. De este modo, lo primero que sugerimos ha sido tirar las paredes del hall de entrada, eliminar el armario empotrado en esa área que también bloqueaba el espacio y la pared maestra divisoria entre la cocina y salón. Hemos redistribuido el espacio para una cocina y hall abiertos con una península que comunican con el comedor y salón. El resultado es un espacio living acogedor donde toda la familia puede convivir en conjunto, sin ninguna barrera. La casa se ha vuelto mas luminosa y comunica también con el espacio exterior. Los clientes nos comentaran que muchas veces dejan la puerta del jardín abierta y pueden estar cocinando y viendo las plantas del exterior, lo que para ellos es un placer. Los muebles de la cocina se han dibujado à medida y realizado con nuestro carpintero de confianza. Para el color de los armarios se han realizado varias muestras, hasta que conseguimos el tono ideal, ya que era un requisito muy importante. Todos los electrodomésticos se han empotrado y hemos dejado a vista 2 nichos para dar mas ligereza al mueble y poder colocar algo decorativo. Cada vez más el espacio entre salón y cocina se diluye, entonces dibujamos cocinas que son una extensión de este espacio y le llamamos al conjunto el espacio Living o zona día. A nivel de materiales, se han utilizado, tiradores de la marca italiana Formani, la encimera y salpicadero son de Porcelanosa Xstone, fregadero de Blanco, grifería de Plados, lámparas de la casa francesa Honoré Deco y papel de pared con hojas tropicales de Casamance.

By keeping the cabinetry around the perimeter of the room in Dove Grey, gave the room a crisp, light feel to it but we wanted to add some depth and the contrast of the island is Charcoal gave us exactly that. The space flows effortlessly from kitchen to garden, perfect for BBQ's in the summer evenings. The positioning of the bar stools on the island works well not only for casual socialising but also just enjoying a coffee in this fabulous new space overlooking the garden.

This beautiful family home in a prime location has an enviably large kitchen overlooking the beautiful, landscaped garden, with plenty of space for a feature, central chimney mantle with tall, narrow windows on either side to frame the cooking area and add light without loss of privacy due to the frosted glazing. Both of these small windows and the wide, main window on the sink run feature flooded quartz window cills, adding both depth to the worktops and a feeling of luxury. The tall bank of units on the right houses double Fisher and Paykel ovens and a flush fitting F&P American fridge freezer which looks beautifully sleek yet still holds enormous quantities of fresh and frozen food. On the left hand wall are the sink, dishwasher and bin cabinets along with a large breakfast cupboard that has a luxury Silestone veined quartz worktop inside, the perfect spot to prepare morning toast and coffee and store small electrical appliances within reach but out of sight, including space for a neat built in microwave oven. The island offers further storage with a built in wine cooler for keeping white and sparkling wines at the right temperature alongside an oak wine rack for the reds, within reach when you are sitting at the casual seating area. A small circular prep sink with dedicated Quooker hot tap next to the hob is useful when filling up pans of boiling water for veg and pasta.
