This small kitchen packs a powerful punch. By replacing an oversized sliding glass door with a 24" cantilever which created additional floor space. We tucked a large Reid Shaw farm sink with a wall mounted faucet into this recess. A 7' peninsula was added for storage, work counter and informal dining. A large oversized window floods the kitchen with light. The color of the Eucalyptus painted and glazed cabinets is reflected in both the Najerine stone counter tops and the glass mosaic backsplash tile from Oceanside Glass Tile, "Devotion" series. All dishware is stored in drawers and the large to the counter cabinet houses glassware, mugs and serving platters. Tray storage is located above the refrigerator. Bottles and large spices are located to the left of the range in a pull out cabinet. Pots and pans are located in large drawers to the left of the dishwasher. Pantry storage was created in a large closet to the left of the peninsula for oversized items as well as the microwave. Additional pantry storage for food is located to the right of the refrigerator in an alcove. Cooking ventilation is provided by a pull out hood so as not to distract from the lines of the kitchen.

The laundry space was an old pantry that was converted. We needed to open up the kitchen to living space to make the space feel larger. By changing the entrance to the first guest bedroom and turn in a den with a wonderful walk in owners closet. Then we removed the old owners closet, adding that space to the guest bath to allow us to make the shower bigger. In addition giving the vanity more space. The rest of the condo was updated. The master bath again was tight, but by removing walls and changing door swings we were able to make it functional and beautiful all that the same time.

Los clientes me contactaran para realizar una reforma de la área living de su casa porque no se sentían a gusto con los espacios que tenían, ya que eran muy cerrados, obstruyan la luz y no eran prácticos para su estilo de vida. De este modo, lo primero que sugerimos ha sido tirar las paredes del hall de entrada, eliminar el armario empotrado en esa área que también bloqueaba el espacio y la pared maestra divisoria entre la cocina y salón. Hemos redistribuido el espacio para una cocina y hall abiertos con una península que comunican con el comedor y salón. Para el color de los armarios se han realizado varias muestras, hasta que conseguimos el tono ideal, ya que era un requisito muy importante. Todos los electrodomésticos se han empotrado y hemos dejado a vista 2 nichos para dar mas ligereza al mueble y poder colocar algo decorativo. Cada vez más el espacio entre salón y cocina se diluye, entonces dibujamos cocinas que son una extensión de este espacio y le llamamos al conjunto el espacio Living o zona día. A nivel de materiales, se han utilizado, tiradores de la marca italiana Formani, la encimera y salpicadero son de Porcelanosa Xstone, fregadero de Blanco, grifería de Plados, lámparas de la casa francesa Honoré Deco y papel de pared con hojas tropicales de Casamance.

Large U-shaped kitchen and 1st floor remodel in Thornton PA. These client’s kitchen was in need of additional space and a fresh new look. To gain more space in the kitchen we moved the laundry to another part of the home and took the wall down between it and the kitchen. We relocated the garage entry door and changed the window size and location to suit the new cabinetry design. A new 8’ sliding door was installed in the adjoining living room as well. Now the new kitchen has great views of their beautiful back yard and tons of natural light. Wide plank engineered wood flooring in Johnson’s English Pub Series; Apple Jack finish were installed throughout the kitchen and first floor. The flooring coordinated nicely with the homes original finished moldings. Echelon cabinetry in Alpine white painted finish are a warm contrast to the natural wood tones and the simple Addison door style makes the cabinetry easy to clean. Granite countertops and a simple backsplash tie everything together.

We incorporated a warm toned vinyl flooring (Nuvelle Density Rigid Core in Honey Pecan"), two toned cabinets in a beautiful blue gray and cream (Diamond cabinets) granite countertops and a gorgeous gas range (GE Cafe Pro range). By overhauling the laundry and pantry area we were able to give them a lot more storage. We reorganized a lot of the kitchen creating a better flow specifically giving them a coffee bar station, cutting board station, and a new microwave drawer and wine fridge. Increasing the gas stove to 36" allowed the avid chef owner to cook without restrictions making his daily life easier. One of our favorite sayings is "I love it" and we are able to say thankfully we heard it a lot.

I changed out the existing kitchen cabinets into a lighter shade as the originals were way too dark for the space making the home seem too dark in this area. The lighting was switched from a large (garage style) lighting to a softer more decorative option and two of the can lights were switched out to add pendant lighting over the peninsula. The flooring was carried through all the way from the foyer, throughout the dining area and into the kitchen to make the rooms feel like one and feel like a larger space. I added seating and storage to the breakfast nook by adding a window seat with built-in storage. Creating more storage space in the home was essential because the original 1960s home had small closets and lacked proper modern storage options. And by adding storage into the kitchen gave an area to add space for some of the larger kitchen items that people have in their homes today. I also took advantage of an open space in the peninsula and made room for a wine cooler. FINISHED!!! Complete tear out. Updated all lighting and code electric. Installed porcelain plank tile floor, white Shaker cabinets and granite counter-tops. Granite is called Giallo Napoli. Crown moldings atop w/ new appliances. The dishwasher is an 18" apartment size.
