This kitchen features a 10 1/2 foot by 5 foot island with LG Viatera Everest Quartz and white maple cabinets. The homeowner easily fit a triple-bowl sink in her island to help her dishwashing. One of her favorite parts of the kitchen is the tile detail above the cooktop!

This French Country kitchen features a large island with a butcher block countertop and bar stool seating. Black kitchen cabinets with gold hardware surround the kitchen. Open shelving is on both sides of the gas-burning stove. A floral loveseat sits against the window with an oval dining table to create a pop of color.

This contemporary farmhouse is located on a scenic acreage in Greendale, BC. It features an open floor plan with room for hosting a large crowd, a large kitchen with double wall ovens, tons of counter space, a custom range hood and was designed to maximize natural light. Shed dormers with windows up high flood the living areas with daylight. The stairwells feature more windows to give them an open, airy feel, and custom black iron railings designed and crafted by a talented local blacksmith. The home is very energy efficient, featuring R32 ICF construction throughout, R60 spray foam in the roof, window coatings that minimize solar heat gain, an HRV system to ensure good air quality, and LED lighting throughout. “With the open-concept floor plan, this kitchen needed to have a galley layout,” Ellison says. A large island helps delineate the kitchen from the other rooms around it. These include a dining area directly behind the kitchen and a living room to the right of the dining room. This main floor also includes a small TV lounge, a powder room and a mudroom. The house sits on a slope, so this main level enjoys treehouse-like canopy views out the back. The bedrooms are on the walk-out lower level.“These homeowners liked grays and neutrals, and their style leaned contemporary,” Ellison says. “They also had a very nice art collection.” The artwork is bright and colorful, and a neutral scheme provided the perfect backdrop for it. They also liked the idea of using durable laminate finishes on the cabinetry. The laminates have the look of white oak with vertical graining. The galley cabinets are lighter and warmer, while the island has the look of white oak with a gray wash for contrast. The countertops and backsplash are polished quartzite. The quartzite adds beautiful natural veining patterns and warm tones to the room.

This beautiful custom kitchen in New Canaan was designed for a busy working family. The clients wanted to accommodate a work station with butcher block countertop and seating at the island, which is painted a custom-blue color. The Plain & Fancy inset cabinetry provides the highest-quality, most durable finish to last for years to come. The Sub-Zero Wolf appliances include a range top, wine refrigerator, and double ovens.

The island, dining table, and bar work table allow for enjoying good food and company throughout the space. The large metal range hood from Raw Urth stands sentinel over the professional range, creating a contrasting focal point in the design. Cabinetry that stretches from floor to ceiling eliminates the look of floating upper cabinets while providing ample storage space.
