Clean lines and warm tones abound in this deliciously modern kitchen with hardworking stainless-steel appliances. Ivory walls and ceilings are trimmed with honey stained alder, a color seen again in the cabinetry. The warm tones of the wood are reflected in the shades of orange and red used in the contemporary artwork hanging in the hallway. Off-white quartz countertops cap the cabinets, while an extra thick countertop of the same material covers the island and waterfalls to the floor on one end. A handsome hammered bronze prep sink is paired with a faucet in a gunmetal finish by Watermark Designs and coordinates with the bronze wall sconce flanking the large window above the bar.

This kitchen had a fantastic head start from a previous remodel back in 2006, which opened up the space. However, our clients wanted to take it a step further. We added two structural posts to accommodate an expanded header. This change allowed us to create an inviting island that not only provides extra prep space but also offers room for six stools. The existing maple wood floors were too beautiful to replace, so we laced into them to seamlessly blend the new square footage. The entire floor was elegantly stained grey, creating a cohesive and sophisticated look throughout the space. The textured melamine wood grain laminate and painted slab doors for the cabinets added a touch of contemporary elegance. The Cambria Queensbury countertops, paired with a full-height backsplash, create a sleek and easy-to-maintain kitchen surface. A upgraded kitchen is not complete without top-notch appliances. In this project, we installed a 48″ Sub-Zero refrigerator, oven, speed oven, beverage refrigerator, wine cooler, induction cooktop, and a decorative stainless hood. The cast iron farm sink found a new home in the spacious island, flanked by two dishwashers for ultimate convenience. Initially designed as a dry bar, an overseas trip inspired our clients to upgrade to a wet bar. After experiencing the joy of sparkling water in Europe, they decided to bring this feature home. The custom-built Grohe faucet was added to provide non-sparkling and sparkling water options, thanks to a carbonated canister cleverly hidden under the sink. To add a touch of warmth and continuity, we incorporated floating shelves made of cherry wood, stained to match the new dining room table. This not only ties the spaces together but also adds a unique design element to the wet bar area. A pocket door leading to the mudroom and back entry, originally added in the 2006 remodel, was kept, and a custom-built dog door made of wood and metal rods was integrated. Now, the dogs can stay in the back entry yet still be part of the family action. New windows and sliding glass doors were installed to provide breathtaking views of the lush landscape and a stunning blue stone patio with a fireplace, seamlessly connecting the interior to the outdoors. Full Kitchen remodel to rework functional space and add storage plus better usability. Full custom Rehau Cabinets with Northern Oak, and Harvest Walnut. Solid Walnut Herringbone Jointed ying-yang island, with Ceaser Stone counters and full height backsplash for clean durable use.

Both the design and construction teams put their heart into making sure we worked with the client to achieve this gorgeous vision. The client was sensitive to both aesthetic and functionality goals, so we set out to improve their old, dated cramped kitchen, with an open concept that facilitates cooking workflow, and dazzles the eye with its mid century modern design. One of their biggest items was their need for increased storage space. We certainly achieved that with ample cabinet space and doubling their pantry space. The 13 foot waterfall island is the centerpiece, which is heavily utilized for cooking, eating, playing board games and hanging out. The pantry behind the walnut doors used to be the fridge space, and there's an extra pantry now to the left of the current fridge. We moved the sink from the counter to the island, which really helped workflow (we created triangle between cooktop, sink and fridge/pantry 2). To make the cabinets flow linearly at the top we moved and replaced the window. The beige paint is called alpaca from Sherwin Williams and the blue is charcoal blue from sw. Everything was carefully selected, from the horizontal grain on the walnut cabinets, to the subtly veined white quartz from Arizona tile, to the black glass paneled luxury hood from Futuro Futuro. The pendants and chandelier are from West Elm. The flooring is from karastan; a gorgeous engineered, white oak in herringbone pattern. The recessed lights are decorative from Lumens. The pulls are antique brass from plank hardware (in London). We sourced the door handles and cooktop (Empava) from Houzz. The faucet is Rohl and the sink is Bianco.
