This was a fun re-model with a fun-loving homeowner. Know locally as 'the 50's guy' the homeowner wanted his kitchen to reflect his passion for that decade. Using Northstar appliances from Elmira Stove Works was just the beginning. We complemented the bright red of the appliances with white cabinets and black counters. The owners of this renovated workers cottage are enthusiastic about entertaining and wanted a practical yet interesting kitchen to fit into this uniquely shaped lean-to space. The generous island has a Corian Raincloud benchtop with space for seating at the far end. A pink mosaic splashback and pendant lights add interest and reflect the personality of the owners.

Designer: Barbara Stowe, Allied ASID The clients were looking for a complete update of their original 1960's kitchen. They requested a clean and fresh look that would withstand the test of time. Although the footprint remained the same, eliminating soffits allowed for full height cabinets and made the space look larger. Brookhaven by Wood-Mode cabinetry, a narrow pull-out pantry cabinet and custom built-in plate rack provide plenty of storage and the dual-fuel Wolf range and Sub-Zero refrigerator are welcome upgrades. Classic colors of gray and yellow are repeated in the handmade ceramic tile back splash, the granite counter tops, porcelain plank tile flooring, decorative valance and the numerous fabrics. Antique chairs upholstered with new fabrics and a farmhouse table made from old doors add warmth, while polished nickel hardware and Schonbek crystal pendants add a bit of bling. The result is a kitchen that is wonderful to cook in as well as being a lovely gathering place for family and friends.

We had the privilege of transforming the kitchen space of a beautiful Grade 2 listed farmhouse located in the serene village of Great Bealings, Suffolk. The property, set within 2 acres of picturesque landscape, presented a unique canvas for our design team. Our objective was to harmonise the traditional charm of the farmhouse with contemporary design elements, achieving a timeless and modern look. For this project, we selected the Davonport Shoreditch range. The kitchen cabinetry, adorned with cock-beading, was painted in 'Plaster Pink' by Farrow & Ball, providing a soft, warm hue that enhances the room's welcoming atmosphere. The countertops were Cloudy Gris by Cosistone, which complements the cabinetry's gentle tones while offering durability and a luxurious finish. The kitchen was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances to meet the modern homeowner's needs, including: - 2 Siemens under-counter ovens for efficient cooking. - A Capel 90cm full flex hob with a downdraught extractor, blending seamlessly into the design. - Shaws Ribblesdale sink, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal. - Liebherr Integrated tall fridge, ensuring ample storage with a sleek design. - Capel full-height wine cabinet, a must-have for wine enthusiasts. - An additional Liebherr under-counter fridge for extra convenience. Beyond the main kitchen, we designed and installed a fully functional pantry, addressing storage needs and organising the space. Our clients sought to create a space that respects the property's historical essence while infusing modern elements that reflect their style. The result is a pared-down traditional look with a contemporary twist, achieving a balanced and inviting kitchen space that serves as the heart of the home. Adding character doesn't have to break the bank. We worked with the client to create a rustic cabinet finish which is just as artsy as he is. This client has great taste and he found cool stools and commissioned a bench made by an artist to blend in with the rest of the house. The artist also installed plumbing pipe as a footrail. The eclectic nature of the furnishings really compliments the custom cabinetry. We really like the juxtaposition of industrial and rustic elements we used for this client. The modern lines of the glass and stainless hood and the white laminate cabinetry are clean and minimal while the textural island and uppers above the sink create a rustic look.
