Being that the homeowners enjoy entertaining and have such a large space to do so, a wet bar with plenty of storage was added. A copper wine glass rack was custom made for the bar and display’s wine glasses in a decorative way. Designer Brittany Hutt specified Homecrest Cabinetry’s Rainer door style in the color Maple Ginger with a Wheat Finish. The kitchen and wet bar include stacked upper cabinets with lift up glass door fronts and inside LED lighting to highlight the décor displayed inside. For the countertops Pompeii Quartz in the color Black Magic was chosen. The cabinets were complete with sleek Off Center Pulls in a Matte Chrome Finish from Atlas Hardware. To integrate a contemporary coastal design element, the Caicos Blue Beach Glass Mosaic in the color Teal from Marazzi was selected for both the kitchen and wet bar backsplash.

What comes to mind when you envision the perfect multi-faceted living spaces? Is it an expansive amount of counter space at which to cook, work, or entertain freely? Abundant and practical cabinet organization to keep clutter at bay and the space looking beautiful? Or perhaps the answer is all of the above, along with a cosy spot to retreat after the long day is complete. The project we are sharing with you here has each of these elements in spades: spaces that combine beauty with function, promote comfort and relaxation, and make time at home enjoyable for this active family of three. Our main focus was to remodel the kitchen, where we hoped to create a functional layout for everyday use. Our clients also hoped to incorporate a home office right into the kitchen itself. However, the clients realized that renovation the kitchen alone wouldn’t create the full transformation they were looking for. Kitchens interact intimately with their adjacent spaces, especially family rooms, and we were determined to elevate their daily living experience from top to bottom. We redesigned the kitchen and living area to increase work surfaces and storage solutions, create comfortable and luxurious spaces to unwind, and update the overall aesthetic to fit their more modern, collected taste. Here’s how it turned out…

A mountain modern designed kitchen complete with high-end Thermador appliances, a pot filler, two sinks, wood flat panel cabinets and a large counter height island. The kitchen is open to the dining room and the great room as well as connected to the large exterior deck through large glass sliders. The 10 foot custom walnut dining table was designed by principal interior & furniture designer Emily Roose. The great room linear fireplace has a custom concrete hearth and is clad in black metal as well as rusted steel columns. In between the rusted steel columns are Modular Art Panels that were custom painted and are lit with LED strips running down behind the rusted steel columns. The fireplace wall is clad in custom stained wood panels that also hides away the TV when not in use. This playful kitchen is a nod in several directions of eras past; mid-mod, vintage and deco. The custom cabinets feature Walnut framed Oak doors and sleek black pulls. A neutral gray floor grounds the bright pops of clay tile and the Big Chill vintage style refrigerator.
