Arch Studio, Inc. designed a 730 square foot ADU for an artistic couple in Willow Glen, CA. This new small home was designed to nestle under the Oak Tree in the back yard of the main residence.

This Pasadena project included a full-scale remodel spanning the kitchen, living area, and upstairs spaces. From the mundane to the marvelous, we infused every corner of this two-story townhome with innovative design solutions and personalized touches. Revitalized from top to bottom, this kitchen shines with new light wood flooring, custom lacquer wood cabinets, durable quartz countertops, vibrant green paint, and eye-catching graphic porcelain tile. White oak floating shelves and modern appliances elevate both style and functionality. With innovative layout adjustments and chic design elements, this kitchen caters to the homeowners' culinary and entertaining needs, even accommodating laundry tasks seamlessly. --- Project designed by Pasadena interior design studio Soul Interiors Design. The biggest challenge in the designing the space was coordinating all of the materials to work within the kitchen as well as within the rest of the house. Top three notable/custom/unique features. Three notable features include the open sky light with shiplap and rustic pendants. The rustic wood beams and the custom metal hood. We paired the custom metal hood with Subzero Wolf professional cooking appliances. There are 2 farm sinks in this kitchen to fit all their cooking and prepping needs. Lots of detail throughout the space.

After living in downtown Chicago their whole lives, these clients were ready for a change of pace. So, they retired and purchased a home near the lake, of course! They both love to cook, and were excited to host big family gatherings. In other words, a full kitchen remodel was in order. The full bath on the main level also needed a complete overhaul. Design Objectives: -Open the kitchen to adjacent family room to create a better space for entertaining -Upgrade appliances and ventilation -Plenty of storage for an extensive collection of cookware and small appliances -Create a dedicated space for baking and pizza making Include a large island for gathering -Select finishes that bring the outdoors in -Create a classic beach vibe with NO white cabinetry! Include tile flooring to flow from laundry room to bathroom to kitchen, while complementing existing hardwood floors -Create direct access to bathroom from laundry room (so family coming from the beach don’t track sand throughout the house) Design Challenges: -Omitting wall between kitchen and family room left very little wall space for cabinetry and appliances -Providing plenty of storage and work surfaces for avid cooks/bakers -Replace existing hardwood with stone floor tile that complements existing hardwood floors as well as cabinetry finishes Design Solutions: -Creating two islands was a key design decision. The large island is for cooking and gathering. The smaller island is for baking and pizza making -Placing the range in the island created a very effective layout for this kitchen -Adding a pocket door from the bath to the laundry room created a direct path for sandy kids and adults alike THE RENEWED KITCHEN AND MORE The finished space feels open and welcoming for the homeowners, their friends and family. The kitchen functions as well for two as it does for a crowd.

Turning the clock back to revive the industrial time the home was built was the inspiration in kitchen remodel. Metal Hood and exposed plumbers pipe complement the Vintage 48' range. Marble tile backslash ties the blue grey painted cabinetry to the mat black metals and white quartz counter tops.

This coastal kitchen needed a refresh. Its solid wood cabinets were painted in a sage green, with putty colored trim and a cherry island and dark countertop. We painted the cabinetry and replaced countertops and appliances. We also moved the refrigerator to a side wall to create a better work space flow and added two windows to provide symmetry on the cooktop wall. A new custom wood hood and patterned marble backsplash help add a cheerful upbeat vibe to a previously subdued and muted space.

We love the Moon Paterson faucet in black, the pull down function and the wheel handle keep it functional while being a beautiful fixture that pops.
