Kitchens feature built in appliances, and glass backsplashes. Living rooms have contemporary style fireplaces and custom upholstery for the most comfort. For years, Jen wanted to cook and bake in a kitchen where she could hone her substantial talents as a professional chef. Her small kitchen was not up to the task. When she was ready to build, she enlisted Shelter Architecture to design a space that is both exquisite and functional. Chicago’s first ecologically friendly high-rise calls for a special kind of luxury. This home’s urban chic vibe is warm and inviting. The open plan allows for majestic views of Millennium and Grant Parks, the harbor and lake.

This open-concept kitchen showcases the best of both worlds, offering a warm and natural look as well as a trendy and contemporary one. Using a unique combination of woods and a warm colored Persian rug, we then paired those with glamorous touches of silver through the pendant lighting and a metallic subway tile backsplash.
