Cooking essentials are all within reach for the serious chefs in this home! Faced with a cramped eat-in kitchen our job was to both maximize and open up the space. By relocating the refrigerator and surrounding it with pantry cabinets, we were able to create more counter space and allow space for two chefs. Warm stained-wood open corner shelving was installed to display the chefs’ favorite items and keep them right at an arm's reach. The breakfast table is now positioned at the window, giving diners a view of the beautiful backyard. The finishes (Executive Cabinetry - Putnam door style in Alabaster paint; Belgian Blue Satin quartz counters by Alleanza) blend seamlessly with the rest of the home.

Despite its limited square footage, this kitchen remodel in a 1938 Tudor-style home near Wash Park was designed with open space and functionality at the forefront. Работа над этим проектом имела свои уникальные особенности, связанные с пожеланиями заказчика и исходными данными квартиры. Необходимо было сделать две отдельные жилые комнаты и кухню-столовую. В квартире только 3 окна, расположенные в одной стене, это и определило размещение и габариты комнат, в каждой из которых должно быть окно. Холл и санузлы находятся у противоположной стены. Таким образом планировка, которую мы предложили практически не отличается от исходной.

Jenny was open to using IKEA cabinetry throughout, but ultimately decided on Semihandmade’s Light Gray Shaker door style. “I wanted to maximize storage, maintain affordability, and spice up visual interest by mixing up shelving and closed cabinets,” she says. “And I wanted to display nice looking things and hide uglier things, like Tupperware pieces.” This was key as her original kitchen was dark, cramped and had inefficient storage, such as wire racks pressed up against her refrigerator and limited counter space. To remedy this, the upper cabinetry is mixed asymmetrically throughout, over the long run of countertops along the wall by the refrigerator and above the food prep area and above the stove. “Stylistically, these cabinets blended well with the butcher block countertops and the large Moroccan/Spanish tile design on the floor,” she notes.

This house west of Boston was originally designed in 1958 by the great New England modernist, Henry Hoover. He built his own modern home in Lincoln in 1937, the year before the German émigré Walter Gropius built his own world famous house only a few miles away. By the time this 1958 house was built, Hoover had matured as an architect; sensitively adapting the house to the land and incorporating the clients wish to recreate the indoor-outdoor vibe of their previous home in Hawaii. The house is beautifully nestled into its site. The slope of the roof perfectly matches the natural slope of the land. The levels of the house delicately step down the hill avoiding the granite ledge below. The entry stairs also follow the natural grade to an entry hall that is on a mid level between the upper main public rooms and bedrooms below. The living spaces feature a south- facing shed roof that brings the sun deep in to the home. Collaborating closely with the homeowner and general contractor, we freshened up the house by adding radiant heat under the new purple/green natural cleft slate floor. This home was a sweet 30's bungalow in the West Hollywood area. We flipped the kitchen and the dining room to allow access to the ample backyard. The design of the space was inspired by Manhattan's pre war apartments, refined and elegant.

Для кухни сразу сложилась тенденция к лофту, поскольку хозяин — кондитер, и кухня для него — это профессиональная среда. Интерьер построен на монохромных сочетаниях черного, белого и серого. Цветных деталей почти нет, кроме пары акцентов в комнате. В комнате и кухне стены окрашены. Фартук — керамогранит, который переходит на стену с барной стойкой.
