Before, the kitchen was clustered into one corner and wasted a lot of space. The range wall is the biggest focal point with the accent tile our clients found that is meant to duplicate the look of vintage metal pressed ceilings, along with a gorgeous Italian range, pot filler and fun blue accent tile. This project challenged us to creatively design a space with an open concept in a currently disjointed first floor. We converted a formal dining room, small kitchen, a pantry/storage room and a porch into a gorgeous kitchen, dining room, entertainment bar with a small powder off the entry way. It is easy to create a space if you have a great open floor plan, but we had to be specific in our design in order to take into account removing three structural walls, columns, and adjusting for different ceiling heights throughout the space. Our team worked together to give this couple an amazing entertaining space. They have a great functional kitchen with elegance and charm. The wood floors complement the rich stains of the Waypoint Cherry Java stained cabinets. The blue and green flecks in the Volga Blue granite are replicated in the soft blue tones of the glass backsplash that provides sophistication and color to the space. Fun pendant lights add a little glitz to the space. The once formal dining room and back porch have now become a fun entertaining space.

This Caribbean kitchen is at Deja View Villa, a vacation rental villa in St. John USVI. With open ocean views from both kitchen windows and the 19' hurricane sliding glass door, it was a must to bring the Caribbean colors inside through paint, tile and glass. Blue glass bubble tile is used for the back splash while blue glass pendent lights and decor jars float above the kitchen to show off the height of the vaulted cypress, open beam ceilings. Two spacious granite covered islands provide lots of food prep space and seating. We love mixing the modern mahogany shaker style stained cabinets with the antiqued blue, country style, James Patterson inspired blue painted island. That's right, this custom island is a spin off of author James Patterson's kitchen island. There are three drawers on each side of this blue beauty. The middle drawer is only one window wide. The outer, two level island is literally two levels top and bottom. The seating side of this island is two steps lower than the kitchen side. This modern kitchen at Deja View Villa, a Caribbean vacation rental villa in St. John USVI mixes several design styles. The Signature Hardware 36" wide farmhouse sink, bridge faucet and James Patterson inspired kitchen island trend toward farmhouse kitchen style. That's right, the custom island is a spin off of Author, James Patterson's kitchen island. The blue paint is antiqued to give it a slight rustic feel while still resembling the blue waters of the Caribbean. With this Vacation rental sleeping 17 guests, size and counter top food prep space were essential.
