Recessed lighting help bring more life to this space while keeping the overhead space clear and open in this short-ceiling room. The traditional look of the cabinets offer a simple look that brings charm and character to this kitchen. Floating shelves offer a unique place for storing wine glasses and ornate pottery above the soapstone counter tops near the farmhouse sink.

This is a recently finished simple flat roof kitchen extension with roof lantern to bring lots of natural light in. As it was a bungalow, we did a half vault over the kitchen and introduced a Velux to give the illusion of a bigger space. Sometimes it’s better to keep (and update/renovate) the kitchen in the original part of the house and use the new space for lounge/diner as it provides more space for units. And this is exactly what we did here. The result is a bright, airy and functional space - perfect if you’re looking to downsize into a bungalow.

The kitchen was designed around our 68" pot rack and our collection of copper pots. I have always LOVED the unfitted kitchen look, and was willing to do away with the average American kitchen design of a horizontal line of wall cabinets above base cabinets. I don't need a large pantry full of food to last me six months, we shop 2-3 times a week. Two wall cabinets was enough, and I converted a linen closet into my pantry and store the rest of my once a year items in the basement. I wanted an urban loft feel for my kitchen, to achieve that I installed brick veneer and used a textured black/gray laminate called Lava for the base cabinets. I wanted to mix up the colors, and loved the Bracing Blue paint by Sherwin-Williams and used that for the wall cabinets and the adjacent wall where the fridge and ovens are positioned. I also used the blue for the toe kick and the frame of the cabinet. I selected white mortar for the bricks to lighten up the brick wall and to compliment the white marble counter tops. I used real marble because I want, over time, the marble to reflect the wear and tear of my life as I make memories in my kitchen.

The showhome at Wellspring Place features our AK_Project range complete with a mix of Wall 51 and Wall 45. 22mm thick high pressure thermal laminate textured doors. Champagne Aluminium rails and plinths. Worktops - SIlestone Blanco Maple 20mm with matching upstands and window sills. Smeg integrated appliances and Caple Extractor hood.

This is a colonial revival home where we added a substantial addition and remodeled most of the existing spaces. The kitchen was enlarged and opens into a new screen porch and back yard.

Nous avons travaillé pour cette maison de bord de mer avec un promoteur immobilier. Après le rachat de cette simple maison, la volonté était de la remettre au goût du jour. Et cela dans l’optique d’avoir de nouveaux acquéreurs. Il nous fallait alors quelque chose de moderne, d’actuel mais d’assez neutre pour que cela plaise au plus grand nombre. Cette maison ne comprenait que des petites pièces fermées, et donc très peu lumineuses. Pour palier à cela, deux ouvertures importantes sont alors créées : Une petite dans le couloir d’entrée, qui mène à la cuisine. Et une grande entre la salle à manger et le salon pour que les deux pièces soient vraiment liées. L’angle de la cuisine qui forme le couloir, permet de délimiter les espaces : tout est visible, mais en restant différentiable. D’un côté l’espace de vie, avec la cuisine, salon et salle à manger. Et de l’autre l’espace nuit et garage. Avec l’accès de celui ci par un petit espace servant de dressing d’entrée Nous retrouvons une suite parentale dans ce premier espace nuit au rez-de-chaussée. Celle-ci comporte alors une chambre donnant directement accès au jardin. Une salle de douche partagée avec un espace dressing. À l’étage, nous avons organisé 3 grandes chambres, et une plus petite qui peut également servir de bureau. Chaque pièce a ses propres rangements sur mesure. Cela permet d’éviter d’encombrer l’espace avec des armoires et commodes imposantes. Les rangements sur mesures tout hauteur se confondent avec les murs. Une salle de bain, avec douche est aussi présente à cet étage. Comme nous avons pensé à la possibilité qu’une famille achète cette maison, nous avons placé une baignoire. Car beaucoup plus pratique avec les enfants en bas âges, surtout dans une maison de bord de mer.
