This was a beautiful kitchen we fabricated, using quartersawn sapele wood. There is a horizontal grain match. The appliances are Wolf / Subzero. The countertops are soapstone (not currently oiled). The contractor is Zred, and architect is Michael JK Olsen.

La residencia del Passeig de Gràcia, recientemente terminada, es un ejemplo de su entusiasmo por el diseño y, al mismo tiempo, de una ejecución sobria y con los pies en la tierra. El cliente, un joven profesional que viaja con frecuencia por trabajo, quería una plataforma de aterrizaje actualizada que fuera cómoda, despejada y aireada. El diseño se guió inicialmente por la chimenea y, a partir de ahí, se añadió una sutil inyección de color a juego en el techo. Centrándonos en lo esencial, los objetos de alta calidad se adquirieron en la zona y sirven tanto para cubrir las necesidades básicas como para crear abstracciones estilísticas. Los muebles, visualmente tranquilos, sutilmente texturizados y suaves, permiten que la gran arquitectura del apartamento original emane sin esfuerzo.

The subtle texture of the cherry cabinets is complemented with brushed granite counters. Rustic hickory floors, a smooth teak dining table and floor-to-ceiling sheers on the windows layer the space with linear elements. A variety of light fixtures, including an indirect fluorescent Boyd fixture in a raised ceiling and Pisces-shaped monorail track, flood the interior with copious amounts of light.

The kitchen is the central focus of the main living area, defined by an angled breakfast bar with a facade of narrow, rectangular limestone slate tiles set in a random pattern. Leathered Cappuccino granite with a chiseled edge by Viktor's Granite and Marble dresses the top. The industrial style pendant fixtures are from Christie's Lighting. Brodie Smith of Packard Cabinetry added the compact wine bar, positioned for convenient access from the adjoining living room. Impeccable workmanship is evident in the cabinetry, which was custom designed and hand-crafted by Packard Cabinetry. The cooking area's "hearth" is maple and given a deep espresso glaze. A shallow niche, inset into the tumbled marble tile backsplash, echoes the narrow tiles of the breakfast bar facing and is artfully illuminated by LED lights. Craig O’Connell Architecture (COA) designed an open and light-filled kitchen remodel for this home in San Francisco’s historic Liberty Hill district. The design features Italian rustic influences and modern amenities, such as an industrial stove. Perched high above Nauset beach this 4 bedroom shingle style cottage is truly a little “jewel box”. The exterior finish is durable and beautiful red cedar with copper flashing. The double sided fireplace (living room and screen porch) was constructed from reclaimed antique bricks. The interior spaces are modest and cozy with a wonderful eclectic blend of furnishings and finishes personally selected by the owners. One of my very favorite projects.
