Traditional kitchen remodel in a 1916 Portland Oregon Bungalow. This kitchen had been remodeled multiple times throughout the years and was in dire need of a fresh remodel. The home owners now have a time period appropriate style kitchen with modern creature comforts every cook will love.

A Southwestern inspired kitchen with a mix of painted and stained over glazed cabinets is a true custom masterpiece. Rich details are everywhere combined with thoughtful design make this kitchen more than a showcase, but a great chef's kitchen too.

This kitchen is the perfect example of how glass can make a room seem bigger. Even if the actual square footage is limited, glass allows light to travel through it, creating the illusion of a larger space. Adding a raised bar expands the useable counter space, the addition of stools creates an eat-in nook and the kitchen becomes as useful as it is beautiful. Rustic yet refined, this modern country retreat blends old and new in masterful ways, creating a fresh yet timeless experience. The structured, austere exterior gives way to an inviting interior. The palette of subdued greens, sunny yellows, and watery blues draws inspiration from nature. Whether in the upholstery or on the walls, trailing blooms lend a note of softness throughout. The dark teal kitchen receives an injection of light from a thoughtfully-appointed skylight; a dining room with vaulted ceilings and bead board walls add a rustic feel. The wall treatment continues through the main floor to the living room, highlighted by a large and inviting limestone fireplace that gives the relaxed room a note of grandeur. Turquoise subway tiles elevate the laundry room from utilitarian to charming. Flanked by large windows, the home is abound with natural vistas. Antlers, antique framed mirrors and plaid trim accentuates the high ceilings. Hand scraped wood flooring from Schotten & Hansen line the wide corridors and provide the ideal space for lounging.

We started the design process by selecting inspiration colors from Dunn Edwards paints. We chose Rainer White, Dark Lagoon and Mesa Tan colors inspired by a fabric swatch that the client wanted to use somewhere in their home. After the general design and space planning of the kitchen was complete, the clients were shown many colored, 3D renderings to show how it would look before settling on the Dark Lagoon upper cabinets, tall cabinets and pantry. For the island and base cabinets, we chose Alder wood with a stain color that complemented the inspiration color of Mesa Tan. Walls throughout the house were painted Rainer White.

The kitchen redesign with a new eat-in kitchen nook with built-in banquettes upholstered in leather. To add an element of fun we played with the tufted button colours. Subtle details are something we love to add to projects to create layers of interest in each space. Its important to keep spaces fun. The natural light in this space is spectacular.

The second island is great for entertaining. The custom cabinets allows the space to look clutter free.

The penthouse is around 10 years old and our client wanted to renovate and reconfigure the layout to suit his everyday needs. We removed one of the bedrooms and incorporated it into the open plan living area. This created an area in his living room for all his musical instruments which were previously in the bedroom. Our client is now enjoying the open plan space where he is able to compose his latest music whilst enjoying the views. Installation of the project was a 10-week schedule. Our client moved out and handed us the keys so we could manage the build work. We carefully selected dark greens and greys to create a warm and intimate space. Our bespoke furniture and curved sofa were all designed to fit the penthouse space perfectly. We also designed the bespoke kitchen with a wide-open grain to the finish which created a two-tone effect. Greater London is a thriving metropolis and we all need to be able to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. This beautiful penthouse is the perfect place to relax after a busy day in central London. Our client is overwhelmed with the end result.
