In this 1930’s home, the kitchen had been previously remodeled in the 90’s. The goal was to make the kitchen more functional, add storage and bring back the original character of the home. This was accomplished by removing the adjoining wall between the kitchen and dining room and adding a peninsula with a breakfast bar where the wall once existed. A redesign of the original breakfast nook created a space for the refrigerator, pantry, utility closet and coffee bar which camouflages the radiator. An exterior door was added so the homeowner could gain access to their back patio. The homeowner also desired a better solution for their coats, so a small mudroom nook was created in their hallway. The products installed were Waypoint 630F Cherry Spice Cabinets, Sangda Falls Quartz with Double Roundover Edge on the Countertop, Crystal Shores Random Linear Glass Tile - Sapphire Lagoon Backsplash, and Hendrik Pendant Lights.

This small house needed a major kitchen upgrade, but one that would do double-duty for the homeowner. Without the square footage in the home for a true laundry room, the stacked washer and dryer had been crammed into a narrow hall adjoining the kitchen. Opening up the two spaces to each other meant a more spacious kitchen, but it also meant that the laundry machines needed to be housed and hidden within the kitchen. To make the space work for both purposes, the stacked washer and dryer are concealed behind cabinet doors but are near the bar-height table. The table can now serve as both a dining area and a place for folding when needed. However, the best thing about this remodel is that all of this function is not to the detriment of style. Gorgeous beaded-inset cabinetry in a rustic, glazed finish is just as warm and inviting as the newly re-faced fireplace.

This beautiful kitchen showcases painted cabinets mixed with a white oak island topped with engineered marble. Glass cabinets lighten the upper cabinets and create an enclosed display area. Brushed brass hardware creates a warm contrast with the painted cabinets.

This first floor kitchen and common space remodel was part of a full home re design. The wall between the dining room and kitchen was removed to open up the area and all new cabinets were installed. With a walk out along the back wall to the backyard, this space is now perfect for entertaining. Cork floors were also added for comfort and now this home is refreshed for years to come! We opened the space by removing the existing wall between the dining room and kitchen and reconfigured the design of the kitchen. We installed Waypoint Livingspaces Cherry cabinets in the 630F doorstyle. Wilsonart’s Sangda Falls Quartz was installed on the countertop with Crystal Shores Random Linear Glass Tile in Sapphire Lagoon on the backsplash. 3 Hendrik pendant lights in Olde Bronze were installed over the island. A Crosstown Stainless Steel single bowl sink was also installed. In the entry hallway, a Pilltop coat and hat rack was installed for storage.

The on-set of a neuromuscular disorder was the basis for this custom kitchen and required the complete customization of this space to the specific needs of the client, as well as to his wife who does most the cooking on a daily basis. The layout was designed for the couple to be able to work together in the kitchen, or independently. The Crystal Keyline island, range-hood and cooktop area are focal points, finished in Antique Ivory w/Brown Highlights, that contrast nicely with Crystal Keyline Toasted Rye w/Brown Highlights cabinetry. The Bayfield door style unifies the design. The Typhoon Bordeaux granite countertops are layered in staggered heights for added visual interest. The Kohler Cruette single-hole faucet with pull-down spout and lever handle service a Kohler "Vault" double-bowl sink (in 8" depth to allow for wheelchair accessibility). A Northland Cast Iron undermount sink in Biscuit makes for a perfect fruit & vegetable prep area, allowing plenty of room for multiple cooks in the kitchen - and yes, it's accessible too! Although largely dictated by the husband's need for accessibility, the universal design of this kitchen is also extremely friendly for a person of smaller stature (his wife!) The couple feels at home in this kitchen yet, it’s not obvious that someone with physical limitations utilizes this space.
