The starting point of the overall design plan was to change one of the entry points in this kitchen from a narrow doorway to a beautiful archway. Because the existing breakfast nook featured an archway, we decided to mimic that architectural element to create a cohesive look. We paired the white cabinetry with a white quartz countertop that features pretty gray veins. And to complement the design, we added a counter-to-ceiling classic subway tile for the backsplash. The gorgeous Café appliances in matte white help elevate the aesthetics of this room. While the white color helps the appliances blend with the white cabinets, the brass handles and details make them stand out. There is a harmonious tension between the black and brass accessories that bring so much energy into this space. We added open shelving to create a visual interest right above the farmhouse-style sink. The black metal shelves from Cascade Iron filled the gap between the two windows and help in creating an instant focal point. We’ve styled the bottom shelves with everyday items while keeping the pretty decorative items on the top shelf.

This simple yet elegant kitchen was planned by our lead designer, Jennifer LeMarr, for the pilot show Small House, Big Easy, which aired on HGTV and DIY Networks. The show is hosted by New Orleans native, Sarah Martzolf. Sarah works hard to restore these little gems, which are as much a part of the city's history as the Garden District and the French Quarter. The kitchen in this 958-square-foot-house was moved forward from the back of the house to create the open concept living area. The wall cabinets are 650 Painted Linen and and the base and island cabinets are 650 Maple Espresso.

This fun classic kitchen in Gold River features Columbia frameless cabinets in Sandy Hook grey. A green glass backsplash in a random matte and polished pattern complements the cabinets which are faced with both painted wood and frosted glass. The Silestone countertops in the Lyra finish have an ogee bullnose edge. The floors are finished in a rich brown porcelain tile of varying sizes that are made to resemble distressed wood. We wanted to design a kitchen that would be sympathetic to the original features of our client's Georgian townhouse while at the same time function as the focal point for a busy household. The brief was to design a light, unfussy and elegant kitchen to lessen the effects of the slightly low-ceilinged room. Jack Trench Ltd responded to this by designing a hand-painted kitchen with echoes of an 18th century Georgian farmhouse using a light Oak and finishing with a palette of heritage yellow. Our clients found that the kitchen layout didn’t function well and that the storage space was lacking. We opened up the space by removing a small wall separating the dining room and kitchen and then adding a support beam. The chimney was exposed on all sides, adding warmth and character. Moving the refrigerator and adding the peninsula allowed for more countertop work space. The microwave was taken off the counter and hidden in the peninsula, along with added cabinets. Combined with a tall pantry the kitchen now has more storage. A new ceiling allowed for pot lights and two new pendants over the counter, making the once gloomy kitchen now bright.

A MOROCCAN INSPIRED KITCHEN The kitchen was inspired by the rich Moroccan blue back splash tile Homeowners’ request: A contemporary Moroccan flair kitchen using royal blue, modern appliances ,an island for entertaining, and loads of storage. Designer secret: Working with the same layout, for the sink and stove area and borrowing space from the small adjacent room was the best solution to make this underutilized small kitchen into a the perfect entertainment space and adding a island for their entertaining purposes. I wanted to to create a feature wall displaying Laila’s & Mahar’s colorful and vibrant characters The royal blue Moroccan tile was the starting point, we decided to keep the cabinets white for a classic look and then layer in a rich royal blue for accent colors that grounds all the elements together. Brushed oil bronze hardware adds a warmth and richness. We want our kitchen to feel inviting and happy, a place where our family and guests can gather without being in our way during meal prep time.
