In our world of kitchen design, it’s lovely to see all the varieties of styles come to life. From traditional to modern, and everything in between, we love to design a broad spectrum. Here, we present a two-tone modern kitchen that has used materials in a fresh and eye-catching way. With a mix of finishes, it blends perfectly together to create a space that flows and is the pulsating heart of the home. With the main cooking island and gorgeous prep wall, the cook has plenty of space to work. The second island is perfect for seating – the three materials interacting seamlessly, we have the main white material covering the cabinets, a short grey table for the kids, and a taller walnut top for adults to sit and stand while sipping some wine! I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend time in this kitchen?! Cabinetry With a tuxedo trend look, we used Cabico Elmwood New Haven door style, walnut vertical grain in a natural matte finish. The white cabinets over the sink are the Ventura MDF door in a White Diamond Gloss finish. Countertops The white counters on the perimeter and on both islands are from Caesarstone in a Frosty Carrina finish, and the added bar on the second countertop is a custom walnut top (made by the homeowner!) with a shorter seated table made from Caesarstone’s Raw Concrete. Backsplash The stone is from Marble Systems from the Mod Glam Collection, Blocks – Glacier honed, in Snow White polished finish, and added Brass. Fixtures A Blanco Precis Silgranit Cascade Super Single Bowl Kitchen Sink in White works perfect with the counters. A Waterstone transitional pulldown faucet in New Bronze is complemented by matching water dispenser, soap dispenser, and air switch. The cabinet hardware is from Emtek – their Trinity pulls in brass. Appliances The cooktop, oven, steam oven and dishwasher are all from Miele. The dishwashers are paneled with cabinetry material (left/right of the sink) and integrate seamlessly Refrigerator and Freezer columns are from SubZero and we kept the stainless look to break up the walnut some. The microwave is a counter sitting Panasonic with a custom wood trim (made by Cabico) and the vent hood is from Zephyr.

A Cool and Moody Kitchen AS SEEN ON: SEASON 3, EPISODE 7 OF MASTERS OF FLIP The perfect place for a hot cup of coffee on a rainy day, the custom kitchen in this modern-meets-industrial home is dark, stormy, and full of character. Polished slate countertops team up with the dark Wren stain on our Gallatin cabinets to create a moody take on modern style. The upper cabinets feature unique up-open hinged doors that add an unexpected element while floating shelves let the penny tile on the backsplash shine. Greenery, copper trinkets, and small clay pots add eye-catching detail throughout the space, creating a curated yet comfortable atmosphere. To maintain the sleek design that this space works so hard for, all of those crucial – yet perhaps not so stylish – amenities are tucked away in the base cabinets, including an under counter microwave unit and a lazy susan in the corner cabinets.

The homeowners, an eclectic and quirky couple, wanted to renovate their kitchen for functional reasons: the old floors, counters, etc, were dirty, ugly, and not usable; lighting was giant fluorescents, etc. While they wanted to modernize, they also wanted to retain a fun and retro vibe. So we modernized with functional new materials: quartz counters, porcelain tile floors. But by using bold, bright colors and mixing a few fun patterns, we kept it fun. Retro-style chairs, table, and lighting completed the look.

Mid-century modern kitchen and butler's pantry by Kitchen Design Concepts in Plano, TX. This kitchen features Ultra Craft Rift Cut Oak (vertical) with a Natural finish in the Slab door style, Rehau Metal Tambour Door, Pratt & Larsen 3x8 "Metallic C602" tile backsplash in a straight lay, 3cm Cambria Bellingham countertops, Daltile Exquisite Ivory 12x24 porcelain floor tiles layed in a brick pattern, Blanco sinks, and appliances from Dacor including a 54" wall hood and 36" gas cooktop. In order to create an open floor plan and entertainer's dream kitchen Morey Remodeling pushed the front wall of the house out to the existing porch edge to create a larger kitchen area and plenty of room for the new island with cascading waterfall edges and cooktop. New beams were installed between the kitchen and dining room in order to support the roof and ceiling load when walls were removed. We Installed new gray over sized porcelain tile flooring in kitchen area and hardwood to match existing. New cabinets in white high gloss acrylic and exotic walnut finish with satin nickel pulls add a modern, sleek look. A new bar area was created and the stunning Verve Chevron glass tile backsplash is the perfect contrast. The Phillips Hue under-cabinet LED strip lights were installed to enhance the backsplash and can be controlled from an app. The counter tops are Pental Quartz Calacatta, with new single basin Farmhouse Sink and Blanco Meridian Kitchen Faucet in Satin Nickel. All new electrical was updated throughout the home.
