In this kitchen, Siteline Cabinetry in the Walton shaker door style with the Toffee stain finish was installed. The countertop is MSI Calacatta Valentin quartz with a standard edge treatment with a Transolid Stainless Steel Sink and Moen Spot Resist Stainless faucet. The tile backsplash is 3x12 irregular subway tile by Anatolia Marlow collection. An Elmwood Park collection pendant light over the island and a mini chandelier in Brushed Nickel. On the floor is 18x18 Flex Corinthia in the Amber color Luxury Vinyl Tile.

Sleek, light and bright. A shortage of square footage did not affect the client’s vision for this new downtown kitchen. In a small condo, the function and layout are the priority for this understated, contemporary kitchen. Bright white and stainless steel reflect the light. Dark woods ground the space and the high style dramatic counter-top with a waterfall edge are the focal point for this cuisine friendly contemporary urban space. Timeless White Kitchen perfectly describes this beautiful remodel we completed over the winter. The original kitchen had 1970's dark oak cabinets with laminate countertops and backsplash. The shape of the kitchen was a U-Shape with upper cabinets over the peninsula, which made the kitchen feel dark and cut off from the rest of the home. For this remodel, took out the U-shape and gave them an L-shaped kitchen instead, giving them extra countertop to the right of the sink. To make up for the storage lost in the upper cabinets and peninsula, we designed a movable island, which could be added on as peninsula piece, an island in the center of the kitchen, or off to the side to allow for extra walking space. We love the functionality of just this piece! The cabinets are flat panel doors and drawers and painted antique white - so beautiful! The countertops on the perimeter are Cambria and the island is butcherblock walnut. The walnut top has 2 drop down leaves, so when needed the homeowner can extend them and create a 6 foot island! The backsplash is a crackled hand-made ceramic tile in a very pretty grey color. The design is in the details for this one for sure! The corner cabinet features a lazy susan, but with and extra 6 inches to incorporate tray storage. In the tall pantry cabinet, there is a lift up door to hide the microwave. One other feature is the hood! This thin hood pulls out when in use and then can be pushed back in when not, leaving a lot of space above the stove. We just love it! The homeowners had just replaced the floor, so we were able to keep that as well. We just love how this kitchen turned out. We wanted to make the kitchen light and bright, but still make sure it fit in with the rest of the home. This kitchen is sure to stand the test of time, from every day living to baking cookies at the holidays!

The existing kitchen was relocated into an enlarged reconfigured great room type space. The ceiling was raised in the new larger space.

For designers their personal home says a lot about them. This is my kitchen. I like using recycled and found elements in unexpected ways. The kitchen island was built from a TV stand, legs from a side table, and hardwood flooring. The rustic sign was made from a piece of plywood that I found in my carport. The fireplace insert is made from plywood, insulation, and some cabinetry samples that I had. The goal is always to have the design reflect the people who occupy the space. My father-in-law's guitars line the wall, my great grand father's ox sits on the shelf, and words that my grandma always said to me as she gave me a hug hang above the door. This is my home.

The house on Blueberry Hill features Starmark's inset cabinets in White with a Blueberry island and Walnut floating shelves. We used Cambria's Britannica quartz counters, Berenson Hardware's Swagger pulls in modern brushed gold, and Sensio cabinet lighting.
