Interior Design by Smith & Thomasson Interiors. White painted built-ins and dark wood accents pull together this once disjointed kitchen, dining area and sitting room. As gourmet cooks and gracious hosts, the Owners primary goal for the residential remodel was to create an open space that would be perfect for entertaining and family gatherings. The first course of action in opening up the kitchen was to remove the floor to ceiling bookshelves that obscured the view to the living and dining areas. A furniture-style island and banquette now occupy the space and graciously create a central gathering area around a beautifully appointed pedestal dining table with a wood planked top. Clear views are experienced from all angles of the space now and are conducive to socialization between chef and guests. The range wall is highlighted by a custom copper range hood anchored on a full height backsplash of glass tile made from recycled glass bottles, a modern interpretation of the classic subway tile pattern. Flanking the hood are wood accented upper cabinets with seeded glass insets and painted base cabinets creating a symmetrical elevation. A wall of floor to ceiling timeless flat panel storage cabinets line the back wall of the kitchen, creating a backdrop for the distressed wood armoire style paneled refrigerator. The painted cabinetry extends past the entrance into the sitting area where the existing wood burning fireplace was updated with paneling to match the new cabinetry. Classic neutral furnishings with subtle patterns in the sitting area create the perfect place to read a book or converse with a friend. Immediately upon completion, the Owner’s began cooking and entertaining in their new space. Successful on all counts, the remodel has created a casual yet elegant Great Room in which to spend time with family and friends.

The keeping room, adjacent to the kitchen, creates a cozy gathering place for reading with four leather Hancock and Moore club chairs gathered around a round vintage cocktail table. Pillows are done in fabrics to compliment the Persian rug and the custom wool plaid drapes with fabric from Ralph Lauren. Hand-forged drapery hardware blends effortlessly with the stained trim, tongue and groove ceiling, The room overlooks the scenic mountain view and the screened in porch complete with wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is splendid with knotty alder custom cabinets, handmade peeled bark legs were crafted to support the chiseled edge granite. A hammered copper farm sink compliments the custom copper range hood while the slate backsplash adds color. Barstools from Old Hickory, also with peeled bark frames are upholstered in a casual red and gold fabric back with brown leather seats. A vintage Persian runner is between the range and sink to effortlessly blend all the colors together. Designed by Melodie Durham of Durham Designs & Consulting, LLC. This beautiful new kitchen and dining extension boasts expansive bright vaulted ceilings, double bi-folding doors, a huge kitchen island with a waterfall edge, monochromatic colour scheme with a pop of rust in the impactful feature lights, bar stools and carver dining chairs.

The kitchen is unique in that 3 finishes are mixed to give the appearance of a European kitchen where collected ins. The subtle green on the refrigerator and wine wall blends effortlessly with the glazed ivory cabinets and warm, rich tones of the alder island. Dining stools by Lorts in yet another wore finish with the brown leather seats compliment the wrought iron pendants and the custom-made hammered copper hood. Two granites are used. The island granite shows lots of movement while the perimeter utilizes a black leathered granite. Distressed Lorts bar stools complete the look. The kitchen and dining room are perfect for entertaining. We repurposed the old grey island countertop which is now the dining table and added a tulip base to maximize how many people can sit around it. A new waterfall island and matching backsplash have dramatic veins that pick up on the kitchen cabinets and floor.

This was a closed, dark and gloomy kitchen without much light. We transformed it into this beautiful open space. Cabinets are custom, matte finish that are "finger print proof" (maintenance free). Floors are white oak and in a chevron pattern.

This stunning kitchen seamlessly merges contemporary aesthetics with functional elegance, creating a space where form meets function in perfect harmony. The kitchen boasts handleless units in deep navy that not only contribute to the sleek and seamless design but also emphasise the clean lines characteristic of contemporary style. The backsplash, extending all the way to the ceiling, is covered with Dekton cladding, creating a statement wall that marries durability with aesthetic appeal. The island is adorned with dark wood slats that add a touch of warmth and texture, creating a dynamic visual contrast against the surrounding contemporary elements. The waterfall quartz on the island enhances the visual appeal and linear effect. Elevating kitchen's visual interest and functionality, bespoke open brass and glass shelving is strategically placed, offering a stylish showcase for curated culinary essentials and decorative items. The brass elements introduce a touch of opulence, creating a harmonious balance with the dark wood and sleek surfaces. Underfoot, the kitchen features limestone flooring that not only adds a timeless touch but also provides a durable and easy-to-maintain surface suitable for high-traffic areas. The neutral tones of the limestone contribute to an overall sense of understated luxury. The carefully curated colour palette of navy and taupe enhances the kitchen's sophistication, creating a timeless and welcoming atmosphere. Modern linear light fittings in brass adorn the kitchen, not only providing essential task lighting but also serving as striking design elements. These fixtures add a touch of contemporary flair and illuminate the culinary workspace with a warm and inviting glow.

The Hasserton is a sleek take on the waterfront home. This multi-level design exudes modern chic as well as the comfort of a family cottage. The sprawling main floor footprint offers homeowners areas to lounge, a spacious kitchen, a formal dining room, access to outdoor living, and a luxurious master bedroom suite. The upper level features two additional bedrooms and a loft, while the lower level is the entertainment center of the home. A curved beverage bar sits adjacent to comfortable sitting areas. A guest bedroom and exercise facility are also located on this floor.
