This project was a long labor of love. The clients adored this eclectic farm home from the moment they first opened the front door. They knew immediately as well that they would be making many careful changes to honor the integrity of its old architecture. The original part of the home is a log cabin built in the 1700’s. Several additions had been added over time. The dark, inefficient kitchen that was in place would not serve their lifestyle of entertaining and love of cooking well at all. Their wish list included large pro style appliances, lots of visible storage for collections of plates, silverware, and cookware, and a magazine-worthy end result in terms of aesthetics. After over two years into the design process with a wonderful plan in hand, construction began. Contractors experienced in historic preservation were an important part of the project. Local artisans were chosen for their expertise in metal work for one-of-a-kind pieces designed for this kitchen – pot rack, base for the antique butcher block, freestanding shelves, and wall shelves. Floor tile was hand chipped for an aged effect. Old barn wood planks and beams were used to create the ceiling. Local furniture makers were selected for their abilities to hand plane and hand finish custom antique reproduction pieces that became the island and armoire pantry. An additional cabinetry company manufactured the transitional style perimeter cabinetry. Three different edge details grace the thick marble tops which had to be scribed carefully to the stone wall. Cable lighting and lamps made from old concrete pillars were incorporated. The restored stone wall serves as a magnificent backdrop for the eye- catching hood and 60” range. Extra dishwasher and refrigerator drawers, an extra-large fireclay apron sink along with many accessories enhance the functionality of this two cook kitchen. The confined kitchen and unused hall closet were too restricting, so walls were removed to open the space. Recessed and undercounter lighting were replaced with LED fixtures. Wood-look tile floor compliments the custom finish on the cabinets, and leathered quartzite provides a subtle contrast to the dark cabinets. Yorktowne Salinger Maple Appoloosa cabinets. Berenson decorative hardware. Renoir Leathered Quartzite with standard ease edge. Stainless steel undermount sink. Danze D457015SS Melrose Stainless steel pull-down faucet. This L-shaped shaker style kitchen is painted in Farrow & Ball Down Pipe. The Concreto Biscotti worktop and brushed brass splashback add a fun, contemporary twist. The floating oak shelf adds movement through the space while the LED lights add light to compensate for lack of natural light. The half larder cabinet and open drawers add plenty of storage while the pull out bin and oak tray slots add unique tucked away design elements. Carl Newland

Small space? No worries. Meet inner city living by Vista Kitchens. This favourite Vista Kitchen is a perfect example of how even the smallest of spaces can become a breathable, open kitchen. Complete with natural white polyurethane doors and a stainless steel bench top, these tidy finishes give the kitchen a fresh, voluminous feel. The addition of the mosaic splash back ties in a sense of elegancy with its art deco geometric design.

Dar una nueva vida a este edificio y convertirlo en una vivienda para estudiantes es la premisa de partida para este proyecto, a partir de ahí, se proyecta una vivienda con 4 dormitorios y grandes zonas comunes en el centro, donde se puedan reunir usos como el salón, el comedor, zona de trabajo y cocina. De este modo, se plantea una casa para una forma de vida muy particular consiguiendo así que la vida social vaya siempre de la mano con la privacidad de cada individuo en su habitación.

Nous avons rénové cet appartement à Pantin pour un homme célibataire. Toutes les tendances fortes de l'année sont présentes dans ce projet : une chambre bleue avec verrière industrielle, une salle de bain black & white à carrelage blanc et robinetterie chromée noire et une cuisine élégante aux teintes vertes.
