Designed and crafted by Woodways, this contemporary, modern kitchen utilizes matte black cabinetry and white quartz countertop flowing into a full backsplash. The kitchen island utilizes the same countertop and adds a waterfall edge with barstool seating. A patterned black material is used to add emphasis to this area of the kitchen. Warm wood accents are introduced to brighten the space and off set the cold materials and color. Roll out drawers provide ample storage and touch open/close vertical lift upper cabinets allow access to high storage.

Full Home Renovation and Addition. Industrial Artist Style. We removed most of the walls in the existing house and create a bridge to the addition over the detached garage. We created an very open floor plan which is industrial and cozy. Both bathrooms and the first floor have cement floors with a specialty stain, and a radiant heat system. We installed a custom kitchen, custom barn doors, custom furniture, all new windows and exterior doors. We loved the rawness of the beams and added corrugated tin in a few areas to the ceiling. A stunning addition to a Wembley home featuring Industrial Polished Concrete flooring amongst raw recycled brick and modern cabinetry and furnishings throughout. The idea was to keep the feel of the exiting home and allow it to flow through to the rear of the property while still giving it a modern edge overall.

Located in the heart of Victoria Park neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale, FL, this kitchen is a play between clean, transitional shaker style with the edginess of a city loft. There is a crispness brought by the White Painted cabinets and warmth brought through the addition of Natural Walnut highlights. The grey concrete floors and subway-tile clad hood and back-splash ease more industrial elements into the design. The beautiful walnut trim woodwork, striking navy blue island and sleek waterfall counter-top live in harmony with the commanding presence of professional cooking appliances. The warm and storied character of this kitchen is further reinforced by the use of unique floating shelves, which serve as display areas for treasured objects to bring a layer of history and personality to the Kitchen. The client’s brief was to create a space reminiscent of their beloved downtown Chicago industrial loft, in a rural farm setting, while incorporating their unique collection of vintage and architectural salvage. The result is a custom designed space that blends life on the farm with an industrial sensibility. The new house is located on approximately the same footprint as the original farm house on the property. Barely visible from the road due to the protection of conifer trees and a long driveway, the house sits on the edge of a field with views of the neighbouring 60 acre farm and creek that runs along the length of the property. The main level open living space is conceived as a transparent social hub for viewing the landscape. Large sliding glass doors create strong visual connections with an adjacent barn on one end and a mature black walnut tree on the other. The house is situated to optimize views, while at the same time protecting occupants from blazing summer sun and stiff winter winds. The wall to wall sliding doors on the south side of the main living space provide expansive views to the creek, and allow for breezes to flow throughout. The wrap around aluminum louvered sun shade tempers the sun. The subdued exterior material palette is defined by horizontal wood siding, standing seam metal roofing and large format polished concrete blocks. The interiors were driven by the owners’ desire to have a home that would properly feature their unique vintage collection, and yet have a modern open layout. Polished concrete floors and steel beams on the main level set the industrial tone and are paired with a stainless steel island counter top, backsplash and industrial range hood in the kitchen. An old drinking fountain is built-in to the mudroom millwork, carefully restored bi-parting doors frame the library entrance, and a vibrant antique stained glass panel is set into the foyer wall allowing diffused coloured light to spill into the hallway. Upstairs, refurbished claw foot tubs are situated to view the landscape. The double height library with mezzanine serves as a prominent feature and quiet retreat for the residents. The white oak millwork exquisitely displays the homeowners’ vast collection of books and manuscripts. The material palette is complemented by steel counter tops, stainless steel ladder hardware and matte black metal mezzanine guards. The stairs carry the same language, with white oak open risers and stainless steel woven wire mesh panels set into a matte black steel frame. This loft kitchen was in desperate need of color and practical application. The owners love to cook and needed more seating space. This after pic shows what can be done on a shoe string budget. Existing IKEA cabinets were given a new life by replacing the face and sides with a vibrant glossy red/stainless skins and doors and Virginia Mist granite counter tops. Raised subway tiles add a bright, crisp dimension to the space. The modern vent replaced a cabinet vent that constricted sight lines. This chef's stove was added and wall behind it was shortened to bar height, and extended for additional seating then topped with a butternut travertine counter for warmth. Open shelving replaced the refrigerator (which was moved to side wall - not pictured) allowing for better flow and additional storage. New stainless steel undermount double sink and industrial faucet complete the look.

Comment construire un espace à l’image de deux personnes aux goûts opposés et comment confronter l’industriel à un style doux et raffiné? Telle a été la démarche entreprise dans le traitement décoratif de ce loft. Tantôt rock, tantôt floral, tantôt brut, tantôt poétique il joue sur les frontières entres les registres à l’image de ses clients. Un grand espace ouvert pour une circulation fluide de la lumière pose des questions quant à la délimitation et au cloisonnement des espaces. Nous avons ainsi employé divers procédés architecturaux tels que la mi-ouverture en créant une cabane destinée à accueillir l’atelier de madame au sein de l’espace de vie, une entrée aux allures de boîte colorée ainsi qu’une suite parentale aux parois transparentes.
