Popular from about 1890 through 1940, Tudor is characterized by steeply pitched roofs, massive chimneys, tall narrow casement windows and decorative half-timbering. Placed right off the entry, this home office immediately grabs your attention as you walk through the door, so it needed some flair. Studio Steidley took away the existing clutter, upgraded the fireplace, and painted the walls, built-ins, and ceiling in a bright bold blue.

On the pursuit for a dramatic space with a contemporary flare, Studio Steidley’s client sought color in an unconventional way. Originally cramped and unused, Studio Steidley transformed this room off the entry into a functional home office.

A heavy home office was turned into an industrial chic space with different layers of wood tones, metal, textures and colors of blue. The homeowner can enjoy a beautiful view out their front window while taking in the scenery of beauty indoors as well.
