Downstairs, an infinity pool with deck and canyon views feels like a natural extension of the home, seamlessly integrated with the indoor living areas through sliding pocket doors. Amenities and features including a glassed-in wine room and tasting area, additional en-suite bedroom ideal for staff quarters, designer fixtures and appliances and ample parking complete this superb hillside retreat.

Our design for the Ruby Residence augmented views to the outdoors at every opportunity, while completely transforming the style and curb appeal of the home in the process. This second story addition added a bedroom suite upstairs, and a new foyer and powder room below, while minimally impacting the rest of the existing home. We also completely remodeled the galley kitchen to open it up to the adjacent living spaces. The design carefully considered the balance of views and privacy, offering the best of both worlds with our design. The result is a bright and airy home with an effortlessly coastal chic vibe.

3D wood wall panels are installed on one side of the room. The panels are delivered to the jobsite in 4ft x 8ft sheets and our workers install them on the wall, ensuring that no seam is visible. The panel is then painted the same color as the rest of the walls. This process is very labor intensive (and multiple times more expensive than the panels themselves), because of the perfect alignment and work required to create a uniform look.

The desk sits by the window to take advantage of natural light, and to save space! Maximising space and storage were key in this home office. Lucy suggested built-in storage for closed compartments to hide messy paperwork and printers, and open shelves for books, mementoes, and family pictures. The bold shelving serves as a beautiful backdrop for Zoom calls too!

An office, situated at the back of the residence offers a warm minimalist interior with views onto the outdoor covered patio area and the lush green lawn that slopes down to the lake. Architecture and interior design by Pierre Hoppenot, Studio PHH Architects.

The three-level Mediterranean revival home started as a 1930s summer cottage that expanded downward and upward over time. We used a clean, crisp white wall plaster with bronze hardware throughout the interiors to give the house continuity. A neutral color palette and minimalist furnishings create a sense of calm restraint. Subtle and nuanced textures and variations in tints add visual interest. The stair risers from the living room to the primary suite are hand-painted terra cotta tile in gray and off-white. We used the same tile resource in the kitchen for the island's toe kick.

This fabulous home office was so appreciated when everything was shut down due to the virus. To the right is an outdoor pergola patio with a fireplace and slide-back doors that open the space up and extend the room. The desk is custom designed. The mortise and tenon design allows lots of openings to hide hard drives and wiring which is always the downfall of a great home office. It was a must from us as a design firm that all technology be hidden when not in use.
