A farmhouse style was achieved in this new construction home by keeping the details clean and simple. Shaker style cabinets and square stair parts moldings set the backdrop for incorporating our clients’ love of Asian antiques. We had fun re-purposing the different pieces she already had: two were made into bathroom vanities; and the turquoise console became the star of the house, welcoming visitors as they walk through the front door.

Our Kelowna based clients were eyeing a Vancouver interior designer, although there were plenty of capable ones locally. When we enquired as to why, they said they wanted a unique style, so we set out on our journey together. The design was totally based on the client’s passion for cooking and entertaining – one of them being an introvert, the other being an extrovert. We decided to fit two islands in the available space, so we started referring to them as “the introvert island” and “the extrovert island”.

ホームバーと言うと敷居の高いものを感じるかもしれませんが、お酒を嗜むという環境が家にあるという人は多いのではないのでしょうか。 決まったソファーでお気に入りのお酒を飲む (たまには休日の昼間から？ それもいいでしょう！) これこそ至福のひとときですね。自宅でくつろぎながらお酒を楽しむ空間、ホームバーづくり。バーカウンターや専用キャビネット、ワインセラーがなくても真似できるホームバーのセッティングやアイデアなどをご紹介します。

お手軽なホームバー

ホームパーティーなどでお酒をサーブしたりグラスを返却する場所が決まっていると、準備や片付けもぐっと楽になりますし、ゲストももてなしに満足することでしょう。バーカウンターのある家はもちろんですが、バーカウンターがなくても、インテリアに合わせて、かご、バスケット、木箱などをうまく使ってお酒をディスプレイすれば立派なミニバーに早変わり。キャスター付きのキャビネットがあればつまみなども並べられてより本格的に。カートやワゴンを活用したバーもいいいですね。ホームバーを囲んで楽しく家飲みしましょう。

やっぱり本格的なホームバーが欲しい！

キッチンともダイニングとも違う、お酒を楽しむだけの特別な場所、ホームバー。お酒好きにはたまらない空間です。ビール党なら冷蔵庫やビアサーバーを、もしもワインのコレクターであればワインセラーをと、自分の趣味 (酒味？) 嗜好でカスタマイズできるのも、自分だけのバーを持てる醍醐味です。ビアサーバーやホームバーなどの設備は特殊なのでリフォームや新築前に専門家と相談することをおすすめしますが、カウンターやグラスを並べる棚などはDIYするのもいいですね。そして、仕上げに良質なインテリアや照明でちょっぴり背伸びした大人な演出を。愛着が深まり、常に家に人を招きたくなること間違いなしです。
