Sometimes what you’re looking for is right in your own backyard. This is what our Darien Reno Project homeowners decided as we launched into a full house renovation beginning in 2017. The project lasted about one year and took the home from 2700 to 4000 square feet.

Net Zero House. Architect: Barley|Pfeiffer. The bar area is directly across from the dining room. This provides convenient storage and easy access to the wine fridge. The hidden door in the massaranduba-clad wall serves as an entry closet.

When planning this custom residence, the owners had a clear vision – to create an inviting home for their family, with plenty of opportunities to entertain, play, and relax and unwind. They asked for an interior that was approachable and rugged, with an aesthetic that would stand the test of time. Amy Carman Design was tasked with designing all of the millwork, custom cabinetry and interior architecture throughout, including a private theater, lower level bar, game room and a sport court. A materials palette of reclaimed barn wood, gray-washed oak, natural stone, black windows, handmade and vintage-inspired tile, and a mix of white and stained woodwork help set the stage for the furnishings. This down-to-earth vibe carries through to every piece of furniture, artwork, light fixture and textile in the home, creating an overall sense of warmth and authenticity.

This storm grey kitchen on Cape Cod was designed by Gail of White Wood Kitchens. The cabinets are all plywood with soft close hinges made by UltraCraft Cabinetry. The doors are a Lauderdale style constructed from Red Birch with a Storm Grey stained finish. The island countertop is a Fantasy Brown granite while the perimeter of the kitchen is an Absolute Black Leathered. The wet bar has a Thunder Grey Silestone countertop. The island features shelves for cookbooks and there are many unique storage features in the kitchen and the wet bar to optimize the space and functionality of the kitchen. This 5466 SF custom home sits high on a bluff overlooking the St Johns River with wide views of downtown Jacksonville. The home includes five bedrooms, five and a half baths, formal living and dining rooms, a large study and theatre. An extensive rear lanai with outdoor kitchen and balcony take advantage of the riverfront views. A two-story great room with demonstration kitchen featuring Miele appliances is the central core of the home.

The design of this space is a harmonious blend of modern and retro elements, where sleek, teal leather bar chairs line up against a bar front adorned with a mesmerizing geometric pattern. Above, industrial-inspired pendant lights hang by chains, providing a warm, directed light that enhances the rich patina of the wooden walls. The ambiance is one of elegance and comfort, underscored by a large-scale vintage illustration that adds a touch of nostalgia to the contemporary setting

Our clients sat down with Monique Teniere from Halifax Cabinetry to discuss their vision of a western style bar they wanted for their basement entertainment area. After conversations with the clients and taking inventory of the barn board they had purchased, Monique created design drawings that would then be brought to life by the skilled craftsmen of Halifax Cabinetry.

Our client was ready for a Re-Fresh on their home, however their cabinets and layout were still functioning and in worked for their family. We decided the best option would be to refinish the existing cabinets, and get new countertops, backsplash tile, and flooring. The space looks amazing, We opted to do both Black and White cabinets, and we replaced the upper doors which had an arch that dated the cabinets, but everything is fresh, updated, and looks fantastic.
