This project was a head-to-toe home renovation of a beautiful Pacifica single-family beach house. Our client bought this home 8+ years ago and had added on a master bathroom that features beautiful handcrafted Fire+Clay turquoise tiles. Little had been done, outside of painting the rooms, before we came along. Every room in this home was hidden away, but by knocking down a few walls the kitchen, living room and dining space became one large open area with small dividing features. With a great deal of collaboration from the General Contractor, we added a skylight in the dining room, pulled up the windows in the kitchen to allow for the new cabinets to fit at a comfortable height, moved the sliding doors that were never used from the master bedroom to the dining room and replaced that opening with new large windows to flush the space with natural light. We updated the guest bathroom by repainting the walls, adding new fixtures and elements that spoke to the new language of the home. Che Interiors, with the collaboration of our client, hand selected all the furnishings, window treatments, and decor throughout. We picked up on those blue and green hues of the master bathroom tiles and incorporated them throughout the rest of the home in custom furniture + home goods, area rugs, and more. By removing a useless closet in the dining room and adding a beautiful arch opening we created a perfect spot for the Turquoise custom buffet cabinet and carried the arch into the master bedroom to create a space for a home office that features a custom desk. Lastly, we put the cherry on top with The Shade Store’s woven beach style window treatments throughout the home. What once was a disarray of colors and closed off spaces is now a lovely California-Chic beach home.

This area was originally the kitchen but the space has been re-designed to create a wide corridor between the rear and front entrances of the house. Made to measure matt lacquered wood cupboards, painted in light taupe create a complete wall of valuable storage. Good lighting is key in these busy transitional areas so both decorative pendant and ceiling lamps have been specified to create a soft effect. Floors are white-washed, textured wood effect ceramic tiles with Emperador marble effect inserts. The mirror has been carefully positioned to reflect light. All the furniture is bespoke and available from Keir Townsend.

Reclaimed wood beams are used to trim the ceiling as well as vertically to cover support beams in this Delaware beach house.

White under stairs additional storage cabinets with open drawers and a two door hallway cupboard for coats. The doors are panelled and hand painted whilst the insides of the pull out cupboards are finished with an easy clean melamine surface.

Having successfully designed the then bachelor’s penthouse residence at the Waldorf Astoria, Kadlec Architecture + Design was retained to combine 2 units into a full floor residence in the historic Palmolive building in Chicago. The couple was recently married and have five older kids between them all in their 20s. She has 2 girls and he has 3 boys (Think Brady bunch). Nate Berkus and Associates was the interior design firm, who is based in Chicago as well, so it was a fun collaborative process. Details: -Brass inlay in natural oak herringbone floors running the length of the hallway, which joins in the rotunda. -Bronze metal and glass doors bring natural light into the interior of the residence and main hallway as well as highlight dramatic city and lake views. -Billiards room is paneled in walnut with navy suede walls. The attic was removed and opened to the spaces below in a vaulted great room. old redwood framing was used with steel to create a bridge connecting new living spaces on the upper level. A steel railing enclosed the bridge but lets light flow through the space. Structural steel was left exposed to add to the modern farmhouse feel. Стена полностью выполнена из керамогранита, в нее интегрированы скрытые полотна с такой же отделкой (ведут в санузел и постирочную). Чтобы рисунок не прерывался и продолжался на полотнах, пришлось проявить весь свой профессионализм в расчетах и замерах. Двери керамогранит установлены до потолка (размер 800*2650) и открываются вовнутрь для экономии пространства. Сам керамогранит резался на детали непосредственно на объекте, поэтому габаритные листы материала пришлось заносить через окно.
