This calm, inviting kitchen space provided us with the perfect opportunity to showcase our Modular Kitchen range. The simple, square wide door pattern aligns with our clients’ choice of a soft, neutral colour scheme creating a light, bright space where the high ceilings, exposed beams and other architectural features of the property are allowed to truly shine. The use of unlipped birch ply for the shelves and cutlery inserts of our Modular range further underlines this celebration of natural features and materials. We believe this design is both beautiful in it’s simplicity and yet clever in it’s functionality. The ceiling extractor has been concealed behind one of the supporting beams, the area by the door has been turned into a boot room and utility, while the alcoves have been repurposed to provide both a walk-in pantry and some wine storage. old stone cottage with contemporary steel cabinets and concrete countertops. old butcher block built into steel cabinetry. This 120 year old one room stone cabin features real rock walls and fireplace in a simple rectangle with real handscraped exposed beams. Old concrete floor, from who knows when? The stainless steel kitchen is new, everything is under counter, there are no upper cabinets at all. Antique butcher block sits on stainless steel cabinet, and an old tire chain found on the old farm is the hanger for the cooking utensils. Concrete counters and sink. Designed by Maraya Interior Design for their best friend, Paul Hendershot, landscape designer. Rose Interiors Photographer: M-Buck Studio This charming house wraps all of the conveniences of a modern, open concept floor plan inside of a wonderfully detailed modern farmhouse exterior. The front elevation sets the tone with its distinctive twin gable roofline and hipped main level roofline. Large forward facing windows are sheltered by a deep and inviting front porch, which is further detailed by its use of square columns, rafter tails, and old world copper lighting. Inside the foyer, all of the public spaces for entertaining guests are within eyesight. At the heart of this home is a living room bursting with traditional moldings, columns, and tiled fireplace surround. Opposite and on axis with the custom fireplace, is an expansive open concept kitchen with an island that comfortably seats four. During the spring and summer months, the entertainment capacity of the living room can be expanded out onto the rear patio featuring stone pavers, stone fireplace, and retractable screens for added convenience. When the day is done, and it’s time to rest, this home provides four separate sleeping quarters. It's built on top of an escarpment designed with large windows that has a spectacular view from every angle. There are so many custom details that make this home so special.
