From traditional to shaker style cabinets, new dove white quartz counter-tops and beveled gray to ceiling back splash with snow white grout for contrast. Hidden trash and spice rack pullouts with functional Lazy Susan for hard to reach corner and dual side access storage island with waterfall quartz counter-top and electrical outlets. Rounded pantry shelves for easier access to high to reach areas. Farmhouse sink with large under storage drawer with appearance of dual door cabinet to maximize cleaning supply accessibility and cleanliness. Extended refrigerator cabinet with shaker end panels and upper storage beside a mini dry-bar area with glass upper cabinet doors to showcase glassware. Stainless steel hood between finished shaker end panel upper cabinets. Three size black modern pulls for drawers and doors to match our client's taste. Finished with a lighter tone of paint to contrast the kitchen/dining area from the living space and finally upgraded the old chandelier to a modern sputnik style light fixture.

The farmhouse kitchen design has been popular for years. Who doesn’t love the downhome feel of a rustic and cozy space? This Pennsylvania family’s kitchen exemplifies everything wonderful about this style. Their kitchen has an allure that draws you in and details that invite you to stay. Tearing out the old, outdated cabinets and replacing them with custom updates was the way to go. While they loved the classic farmhouse style, they were seeking a cabinet door design that would stand the test of time. White Shaker on the perimeter cabinets and Colonial Blue cabinetry on the island, making a beautiful distinction from the white perimeter. This is the second home in two years I have worked on with my wonderful clients, designing this kitchen remodel on their home in Wood Ranch in Simi Valley, CA.. They have just listed this home, too, having found the equestrian property of their dreams. What will we cook up next? I think I've created a monster...

This European inspired kitchen remodel is warm with soft colors, texture and light and is warm and inviting. The knotty alder island and hood banding and shelves add warmth to the space. The leather finished Taj Mahal countertops make the space more approachable.

Character and charm are abundant in this main floor remodel. The home edged toward a traditional style going in and we chose to honor this feel and carry it throughout while updating the space. From a space-planning perspective, the first volley was to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room and let the light shine in. And shine in it does! The numerous windows stayed in place and now do their job allowing light to flow from room to room. Those very windows are trimmed in natural white oak and paired with arched wood-cased openings to add warmth to the scene. Wood beams between the kitchen and the family room and new stone on the fireplace add a nuanced rustic touch while keeping with the overall feel of the home. These organic elements beautifully offset the crisp whites and blues found everywhere you look. A patterned tile offers visual interest in the backsplash and travels from the counters to the ceiling bringing the eye with it. Orb-like woven pendant lights lend texture and interest to the marble topped island and brushed gold accent task lighting hangs above the apron sink. When a traditional style is held in high regard, and implemented well, it is nothing short of priceless.
