Using an existing sectional sofa and removing the corner piece created the U-shaped sofa. Adding blue and white decor finished the space and created a comfy place for the family.

The room is divided into two functional spaces. The largest portion contains seating for seven people defined by a large area rug. This area is perfect for watching a game, movie or enjoying company. A high-top table an chairs sit behind the seating area for easy television viewing or to play a game.

This busy father of 3 wanted an updated functional space for his kids and dog! First we built a custom window seat complete with storage for out of view toys. My clients always wanted a fireplace in the family room but could not build the necessary chimney due to building restrictions. To overcome this obstacle we installed an Eco Smart bio fuel fireplace. which became the focal point of the room. Next we added custom cabinetry for storage which coordinated with the kitchen (which is an open room adjacent to this space). Custom furnishings from American Leather and Hickory Chair were selected for my tall client. High performance fabrics were selected to provide worry free enjoyment of the furniture. Finishing accent pieces from Charleston Forge add a warm and contemporary vibe to the pace. The dark stain is a beautiful contrast to the lighter colorway. As you can see there are 2 skylights and 2 very large windows so light is not a problem but sun and heat are. With the height of the ceilings, we needed a large but good looking ceiling fan to control the temperature. An oversize custom ceiling fan was chosen. The walls are a coordinated blue grey to compliment the Venetian plaster finished fireplace column. Book storage was included under the eaves, together with vintage drawers for guests.

Edward Der-Boghossian Although the kitchen looks fairly normal, the whole property had a triangular shape which made it a very difficult floor plan to work with. The triangular shape of the kitchen allowed an interesting shape island in the middle of the floor, as well as different sized pantries to accommodate the difficult floor plan. The pull out drawers are made of birch with a dark walnut finish to match the rest of the cabinetry. We installed double uppers, and made the top layer of cabinetry deeper than the lower level, and also put some LED lighting in. While the floor plan was tough to work with, the results turned out great.

The homeowners could not agree on what would go above the fireplace. The wife insisted a painting and the husband wanted a TV. Problem solved! The TV is hidden behind a framed scrolling canvas. With the touch of the remote, the image goes from Monet's sailboats to ESPN!
