This family room is the hub of the home, the use cheerful colors and fun patterns sets the tone of the room. The comfortable seating are perfect for fun family gathering. We kept some of the original elements such as the marble fireplace mantel and the victorian style pocket doors. We haven't shared a project in a while so here is a good one to show off.? This living room gives off such a cozy yet sophisticated look to it. Our favorite part has to be the shiplap in between the beams, that detail adds so much character to this room and its hard not to fall in love with this remodel.

The stacked stone fireplace surround is the focal point for this family room....and rightfully so...it is gorgeous. Also flanking the fireplace are built in cabinets, perfect for storing favorite books, games, DVD's and, of course, a smart TV. A great set-up for summer guests at the beach!

When designing a fireplace, there are a few important considerations to make. 1. Deciding the height of the actual fire display, keeping it just a touch below eye height when lounging on the sofa is ideal. 2. Achieving a certain look and feel. Introducing a dark polished Escrapment stone slab with warm tones and horizontal veining creates naturally visual interest while maintaining a clean modern look. 3. Determining what goes above the mantel. Our clients had this piece of art for many years and it was important that there was enough room above to display this gorgeous landscape print.

A diagonal wall was built into a corner of this lower level family room. The cabinets were recessed under the wall the maximize the footprint of the space. A matching wood countertop was added for a more furniture looking piece. The flat screen tv was wall mounted as well as the sound bar.

A casual and inviting space to spend time with family, play games, read, and relax by the warmth of the custom fieldstone fireplace. This room is a warm, comfortable, and welcoming for the four generations of family that it enjoy it on a daily basis. Photo by: Zinnia Images

Innovative Design Build was hired to remodel an existing fireplace in a single family home in Boca Raton, Florida. We were not to change the footprint of the fireplace or to replace the fire box. Our design brought this outdated dark bulky fireplace that looked like it belonged in a log cabin, into 2020 with a modern sleeker design. We replaced the whole surround including the hearth and mantle, as well as painted the side walls. The clients, who prefer a more coastal design, loved the traditional brick pattern for the surround, so we used creamy colors in a multi format design to give it a lot of texture. Then we chose a beautiful porcelain slab that was cut using mitered edges for a seamless look. We then stained a custom mantle to match other wood tones in their home tying it into the surrounding furniture. Finally we painted the walls in a lighter greige tone to compliment the newly remodeled fireplace. This project was finished in under a month, just in time for the clients to enjoy the Christmas holiday.
