A beautiful southern plantation style home built in Mississippi and designed by Bob Chatham. From the homeowners: "The main things we wanted to accomplish with building our house were: 1. A home that would accommodate for our family gatherings. We both have fairly large families who live locally. 2. We wanted the house to contain the charm and the look of an old Southern plantation. We feel that this is a classic, timeless look."

Located in Old Seagrove, FL, this 1980's beach house is steps away from the beach and a short walk from Seaside Square. Working with local general contractor, Corestruction, the existing 3 bedroom and 3 bath house was completely remodeled. Additionally, 3 more bedrooms and bathrooms were constructed over the existing garage and kitchen, staying within the original footprint. The modern coastal design focused on maximizing light and creating a comfortable and inviting home to accommodate large families vacationing at the beach. The large backyard was completely overhauled, adding a pool, limestone pavers and turf, to create a relaxing outdoor living space.

Built in 1998, the 2,800 sq ft house was lacking the charm and amenities that the location justified. The idea was to give it a "Hawaiiana" plantation feel. Exterior renovations include staining the tile roof and exposing the rafters by removing the stucco soffits and adding brackets. Smooth stucco combined with wood siding, expanded rear Lanais, a sweeping spiral staircase, detailed columns, balustrade, all new doors, windows and shutters help achieve the desired effect. On the pool level, reclaiming crawl space added 317 sq ft. for an additional bedroom suite, and a new pool bathroom was added. On the main level vaulted ceilings opened up the great room, kitchen, and master suite. Two small bedrooms were combined into a fourth suite and an office was added. Traditional built-in cabinetry and moldings complete the look.
