La VILLA 01 se situe sur un site très atypique de 5m de large et de 100m de long. La maison se développe sur deux étages autour d'un patio central permettant d'apporter la lumière naturelle au cœur de l'habitat. Dessinée en séquences, l'ensemble des espaces servants (gaines réseaux, escaliers, WC, buanderies...) se concentre le long du mitoyen afin de libérer la perspective d'un bout à l'autre de la maison.

The Institute for Advanced Study is building a new community of 16 faculty residences on a site that looks out on the Princeton Battlefield Park. The new residences continue the Institute’s historic commitment to modern architecture.

We completely gutted and renovated this historic DC rowhouse and added a rear addition and a roof deck, accessed by stairs to an enclosed structure. The client wanted to maintain a formal, traditional feel at the front of the house and add bolder and contemporary design at the back. We removed the existing partial rear addition, landings, walkways, and retaining walls. The new 3-story rear addition is across the entire width of the house, extending out 24-feet.

Having some fun with the back side of this townhouse by creating a pattern for the Hardie Board panels. Large windows lets lots of light in and yes, let the neighbors see inside. Light filtering shade are usually drawn down somewhat for privacy. Solar was added to the roof top where the HVAC units also live. Deep yellowy orange wall sconces from Barn Light Electric add some whimsy to the rear deck. The front of the home builds upon the vernacular of the area while the back pushes the envelope a bit, but not too much.

During Phase I, 8 faculty townhouses of approximately 3,000sf each were built at a total cost of $6.7 million. Each building is comprised of a full basement, patio, two above-ground living floors, and a ground-level two-car garage. Phase II which is in progress includes 8 new townhouses to be constructed as a group of 6 and a duplex of 2.

Located in the quaint neighborhood of Park Slope, Brooklyn this row house needed some serious love. Good thing the team was more than ready dish out their fair share of design hugs. Stripped back to the original framing both inside and out, the house was transformed into a shabby-chic, hipster dream abode. Complete with quintessential exposed brick, farm house style large plank flooring throughout and a fantastic reclaimed entry door this little gem turned out quite cozy.

We loved restoring and re-imaging this old wooden house, located in Brooklyn, NY. Our wonderful client is a set designer whose collaboration on this project was a dream. Victorian, eclectic, retro and mid-century styles were balanced throughout the house to truly make a unique and personal home.

The client wanted to maintain a formal, traditional feel at the front of the house and add bolder and contemporary design at the back. We removed the existing partial rear addition, landings, walkways, and retaining walls. The new 3-story rear addition is across the entire width of the house, extending out 24-feet. Our original front entry design did not have a planter. However, the HPRB insisted on a planting area to maintain that original element of the house. The charcoal gray color at the trim and the front door had to be approved by HPRB. HPRB also had to review and approve our new code-compliant steps and railings to the front door.
