ガルバリウム鋼板の外壁に、レッドシダーとモルタルグレーの塗り壁が映える個性的な外観。間口の狭い、所謂「うなぎの寝床」とよばれる狭小地のなかで最大限、開放感ある空間とするために2階リビングとしました。２階向かって左手の突出している部分はお子様のためのスタディスペースとなっており、隣家と向き合わない方角へ向いています。バルコニー手摺や物干し金物をオリジナルの製作物とし、細くシャープに仕上げることで個性的な建物の形状が一層際立ちます。

古くから形成された住宅地の計画です 夫婦と子供3人のための住居の計画で収納を確保しながら スッキリとしたインテリアになること目指して設計しました、1階はＬＤＫと水回り、書斎、家族全員のクローゼットキッチンの一部を兼ねるパントリーとし､2階は寝室子供室を設けています

This 1990s brick home had decent square footage and a massive front yard, but no way to enjoy it. Each room needed an update, so the entire house was renovated and remodeled, and an addition was put on over the existing garage to create a symmetrical front. The old brown brick was painted a distressed white. The 500sf 2nd floor addition includes 2 new bedrooms for their teen children, and the 12'x30' front porch lanai with standing seam metal roof is a nod to the homeowners' love for the Islands. Each room is beautifully appointed with large windows, wood floors, white walls, white bead board ceilings, glass doors and knobs, and interior wood details reminiscent of Hawaiian plantation architecture. The kitchen was remodeled to increase width and flow, and a new laundry / mudroom was added in the back of the existing garage. The master bath was completely remodeled. 南側には十分な広さがあり開口さえ確保すれば十分な明るさを室内に導入できます。リビングルームの外側には広大なタイルデッキテラスが有り同じホワイト色なので室内側から見るとリビングルームの床がそのまま延長されたように見えます。植栽が豊かなので白い壁、白いデッキが美しく映えます。

リノベーションの依頼を受け、現地に赴き最初に建築を拝見した時は余りの巨大さと問題の多さに途方にくれました。何回か敷地に通いクライアントのヒアリングをするうち段々と設計のイメージが固まってゆきました。クライアントとは個人住宅の設計監理の三回目の仕事でしたので比較的やりやすかったのは幸いでした。
