The kitchen is farmhouse chic, with white cabinetry, black granite counters, Carrara marble subway tile backsplash, and a beverage center. The large island, with its white quartz counter, is multi-functional, with seating for five at the counter and a bench on the end with more seating, a microwave door, a prep sink and a large area for prep work, and loads of storage. The kitchen includes a large sitting area with a corner fireplace and wall mounted television. The multi-purpose mud room has custom built lockers for coats, shoes and bags, a built-in desk and shelving, and even space for kids to play! A Modern Farmhouse set in a prairie setting exudes charm and simplicity. Wrap around porches and copious windows make outdoor/indoor living seamless while the interior finishings are extremely high on detail. In floor heating under porcelain tile in the entire lower level, Fond du Lac stone mimicking an original foundation wall and rough hewn wood finishes contrast with the sleek finishes of carrera marble in the master and top of the line appliances and soapstone counters of the kitchen. The mudroom addition created a generous open space for custom tall cabinets, a bench, coat hooks and a new rear door. Cubbies fit perfectly under the new bench for easy access to shoes. The Montauk blue slate floor offers a beautiful surface, easily cleaned when necessary.

A mudroom addition was added to this home to increase storage for a family of five. Built in cabinets, lockers, and a storage spot for charging. Slate floor, hale navy paint, white cabinets, stainless steel countertops, dark stained bench top.

Instead of a mudroom with open shelves, our client wanted large closets to store coats and books at her back entry. She also placed a dresser and displayed her spoon collection.

We discovered wood paneling behind damaged drywall and decided to embrace it and paint it with a deep navy. New slate tiles and durable carpeting on the stairs as well as lots of coat hooks makes this a functional yet attractive landing space for this family of four.
